| Abstract: | C-type lectin-like receptor-2 (CLEC-2) is a nonclassical C-type lectin receptor, which is mainly expressed on platelets and granulocytes. Under stimulation of the snake venom protein rhodocytin and transmembrane sialoglycoprotein podoplanin, it can form a dimer through YXXL motif in the cytosolic tail, leading to a syk-dependent signaling pathway. Recent studies demonstrated that CLEC-2 plays an important role in platelet aggregation, tumor metastasis, thrombotic development, as well as HIV dissemination. Therefore, Further study of CLEC-2 may provide information on the clinical treatment of the diseases related with platelet. |
