Analysis of Clinical Symptoms and Pathologic Features of Young Patients with Colorectal Carcinoma

Objective To study the clinical and pathological features in 32 cases of young patients （age≤35） with colon cancer and to explore the possibility of preventing and curing colorectal carcinoma. Methods 32 cases of young patients and 112 aged patients treated in our hospital from January 1999 to June 2009 were retrospectively reviewed. Their clinical features, the position of cancer, pathological features, the stage by Dukes and cause of misdiagnosis were compared. Results The rate of muco-bloody stools, bellyache, mucinous adenocarcinoma, Dukes stage C and D, the rate of misdiagnosis were significant different （P〈0.05） in young group and old group. Conclusions Colorectal carcinoma in young patients are relatively late diagnosed and misdiagnosed, and more malignant and the prognosis are worse.
