Abstract: | Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) is licensed as a prophylaxis in combination therapy to prevent renal transplant rejection. Gastrointestinal side effects are fairly common and include diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, gastritis and constipation. This drug has recently been described as causing villous atrophy, nutrient malabsorption and colonic mucosal changes. We present a case of reversible steatorrhoea occurring in a patient treated with MMF following an episode of infections diarrhoea. |
