| Abstract: | Among 57 cadavers (20 adults, 37 children), 6 cases of the musculus sternalis (4 males, 2 females) were noted. On every case, we described about position, shape, length, width, origin and attachment as well. The incidence of musculus sternalis was 10.5% which was higher than in Europeans and simliar to Japenese. It is no significant difference between male and female. The nerve supply to this musculus was from the anterior thoracic in 4 cases and from the intercostal in one. The museulus sternalis found in man was probably the remnant of the panniculus carnosus. |
