| Abstract: | 5-Fluoro-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran was synthesized from 4-fluorophenol by bromination to give 2-bromo- 4-fluorophenol, which reacted with 1,2-dichloroethane and then cyclized through Grignard reaction in 79% overall yield. |
