摘    要:通识教育(general education)是对近代高等教育有重大影响的一种教育思想与实践,近年来,我国学者对通识教育进行了更为广泛和深入的研究。综观学者们的研究,笔者发现其中尚存有很多争议。本文拟从对“general education”的翻译、通识教育的概念界定、通识教育与专业教育、人文教育、素质教育的关系以及通识教育实施方式和实施年限等方面,分析归纳其争议所在,并尝试提出自己的观点。

Abstract:During the reform of higher education, Chinese researchers began to do more and more research on generaleducation. But there are still some arguments that need clarifying on the issues of general education among Chineseresearchers, In this article, the author analyzes and points out the different opinions on general education in Chinathrough the following aspects: the different translation of general education from English into Chinese; the definition ofgeneral education; the relationship between general education and humanities education, specialized education, andquality-oriented education; the way of general education practice; and the time limitation of general education in under-graduate education.
