Investigation on Disease Knowledge and Health Education Needs of Elderly Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome

Objective:To investigate the disease knowledge and health education needs of elderly patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome.Methods:A total of 85 elderly patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome treated in Xiangtan Central Hospital from January 2020 to January 2021 were selected as the research object.The general situation,disease knowledge and health education needs of patients were investigated by filling in the knowledge questionnaire of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(AKT).Results:The average AKT score of 85 patients was(7.59±1.64)points.There were significant differences in AKT scores in age,years of education,family residence and family income(P<0.05);patients had the highest demand for treatment and prognosis knowledge(90.59%),followed by basic disease knowledge(87.06%);the main ways of health education were individualized guidance(91.76%)and wechat doctor-patient communication group.Conclusion:The disease knowledge of elderly patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome is generally not high,especially in rural patients with old age,low years of education and low family income.It is necessary to strengthen multi-content and multi-channel health education.
