Cytotoxic activity of antibodies to a collagen-like synthetic polytripeptide on cells in tissue culture

Antibodies to the ordered collagen-like synthetic polymer (Pro-Gly-Pro)_n, as well as antiserum to rat tail collagen, have a similar specific cytotoxic activity on primary cultures of rat muscle cells and on rat embryo fibroblasts. This cytotoxic effect is complement-dependent, and could be observed both in monolayers and in cell suspensions.
