Introduction Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major public health problem worldwide, due to its epidemic proportions and to its association with high cardiovascular risk. Therefore, screening for CKD is an increasingly important concept, aiming for early detection and prevention of progression and complications of this disease. |
