Application of ultrasound-guided lauromacrogol injection for seroma after laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair

Objective To observe the efficacy of ultrasound-guided lauromacrogol injection for seroma after laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.Methods From May 2016 to November 2019,15 patients with typeⅡand above seroma persisting at 1 month after laparoscopic repairing were selected.Hernia belt was bandaged after evacuating liquid and lauromacrogol injected under the guidance of color Doppler ultrasound.Results Among them,13 cases became cured after one injection.Two effective cases were re-examined 1 week later.After a second injection,both became cured after 1 week.No recurrence was noted at Month 1/3/6.Local pain was obviously alleviated and there was no occurrence of local redness,swelling,fever or other complications.Conclusion Ultrasound-guided lauromacrogol injection is both safe and reliable in the treatment of seroma after laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.
