Abstract: | In this article, we report the results of plasma fibronectin (FN) assay in 35 patients with moderate and serious carboxyhemoglobinemia before and after treatment by hyperbaric oxygenation. The results showed that there was remarkable decrease of plasma FN in all the patients, which meant a significant difference as compared with the control group (moderate n = 15, P less than 0.001; serious n = 20, P less than 0.001). One week after treatment, plasma FN in the patients turned to the normal level. After studying the plasma FN in both the patients with carboxyhemoglobinemia and the healthy volunteers, we found that after treatment with hyperbaric oxygenation, plasma FN increased significantly than before. This discovery suggests that hyperbaric oxygenation has marked effect in promotin; the active recovery of FN in the human body. |
