Abstract:
Selenium is an important trace element in body function. It is erythrocyte antioxidant and vital composition of GSH-Px. Adequate selenium can make GSH-Px turn H2 O2 into water. Selenoprotein is rich in GSH- Px, which can eliminate H2 O2 and lipid H2 O2, and inhibit the intensity and duration of ROS signaling. The biology activity of several selenoproteins in the endoplasmic reticulum has not been decided so far, but it's known that they are involved in the formation of protein bisulfide, and the regulation of responsive signaling of unfolded protein. Recent studies have indicated that selenoprotein W and thioredoxin selenoprotein can help to transmit signals to disulfide linkage regulated by target protein.
