| Abstract: | A Study of instivores and rodents was made in 1987 and 1988 at Cachai and the nearby areas, Guizhou. Three working sites were set up at different altitudes in Caohai. Twelve species of Insectivora and Rodentia were captured, the former include 2 species, belonging to 2 genera, 1 family and the latter 10 species, falling into 6 genera, 2 families. Apodemus chevrieri and Eothenomys olitor were dominant species, accounting for 69.57% of the total specimens, and 52.18% of them were Apodemus chevrieri. The number of species decreased as the altitude increased. The rodent could be divided into three ecological groups according to their distribution and habitat. |
