Analysis on the degree of Sichuan nursing staff's recognition to the importance of disaster nursing training

Objective To identify the recognition to the importance of disaster nursing training among nurses in Sichuan provinee and to determine the effects of training so as to provide the reference for further training. Methods The trainee＇s awareness of the importance of the training were investigated with a self - designed questionnaire ＇after the course. The questionnaire included 5 dimensions,which were emergency nursing,orthopedic nursing,psychological nursing for victims and rescuers, rehabilitation nursing and health management for victims. Results The total score of the awareness of importance was （2.95 ± 0.11 ）. The scores of all 5 dimensions were over 2.90. The factors of professional titles ,positions ,locations and whether the nurse had participated in rescue had significantly influence on the importance awareness of rehabilitation nursing,health management and psychological nursing for victims and rescuers （P 〈0. 01 or P 〈0. 05）. Conclusion The trainees highly recognize the importance of disaster nursing training for their future work. The training comse can meet nurses＇needs for disaster nursing.
