Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical distribution and resistance of pseudomonas aeruginosa in hospitals,and to provide evidence for rational use of antibiotics in clinic.Methods Nseudomonas aeruginosa was isolated from various clinical samples in our hospital during November 2008 and November 2009,and drug sensitivity test was carried out by Kirby-Bauer method.The results were statistically analyzed.Results 156 strains of pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated in one year,and most of them were from sputum samples of inpatients in Respiratory Department,Intensive Care Unit and Neurology Department.Resistance rates of pseudomonas aeruginosa to cefepime,ceftazidime,imipenem,meropenem,pipercillin/tazobactam,ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin were 48.8%,50.0%,66.7%,66.7%,54.5%,32.7% and 53.2% respectively.Multidrug-resistant and pandrug-resistant strains accounted for 40.4% and 3.2% respectively.Conclusion Resistance rates of pseudomonas aeruginosa were very high in our hospital.Effective measures must be taken to control the spread of multidrug-resistant and pandrug-resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa.
