Three column classification of complicate tibial plateau fractures and its treaement

Objective： To discuss the three column classification of complicate tibial plateau fractures and their treatment.Methods： Thirty-five patients with complicate tibial plateau fractures were divided into two column fractures（23 cases） and three column fractures（12 cases） according to a CT-based three dimensional rebuilding system—＂Three-Column Classification＂.All patients were treated with surgery via individual approach and fractures were repaired with internal fixation with self planted bones.Results： An average of 21.8 months of follow up was conducted on all patients,and X-ray showed that anatomical restoration of bones in 33 cases and dislocation in 2 cases.All cases were clinically recovered,no complications like loose fixation was observed.Excellent effects was observed in 23 cases,good in 9,ok in 2,poor in 1 case showing a good land excellent rate of 91.4%.Conclutions： The three column classification method is good for the treatment of complicate tibial plateau fractures.
