The Clinical Significance of Procalcitonin and Neutrophil Alkaline Phosphatase Before and After Surgery in Patients with Acute Cerebral Hemorrhage

Objective The clinical significance of procalcitonin(PCT)and neutrophil alkaline phosphatase(NAP)in patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage before and after operation was analyzed.Methods 66 patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage admitted to the hospital from March 2018 to February 2020 were selected as the research objects in this study.The patients with postoperative infection were included in the infection group(35 cases),while the patients without postoperative infection were included in the non-infection group(31 cases).The levels of PCT and scores of NAP between the two groups were compared,and the correlation coefficient and diagnostic performance(specificity and sensitivity)of PCT and NAP in the infection group were analyzed.Results 3 hours after operation,the levels of PCT and scores of NAP in the two groups were both higher than those of 1 day before operation,and the levels of PCT and scores of NAP in the infected group were higher than those in the non-infected group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).According to the results of Pearson correlation analysis,the levels of PCT in the infected group was positively correlated with the scores of NAP(R=0.768,P=0.026).In the diagnosis of infection,the areas under the ROC curve of PCT and NAP were 0.836 and 0.869,respectively.When the critical values of PCT and NAP were 6.18 mg/L and 85.2,the diagnostic specificity were 90.19%and 90.47%,and the diagnostic sensitivity were 84.52%and 83.79%.Conclusion PCT and NAP could be regarded as effective indicators to detect postoperative infection in patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage.
