The innovation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),like the innovation of other knowledge,the invaluable bequest should be cleaned up systematically firstly,and the breakthrough be found on the basis of following objective rule. The author in this article expounds that 1)the essence of "gifts" in TCM;2)anatom ic pattern and experimental model are both the important pattern for studying TCM;3)"diseases" and "syndromes" in TCM;4)meaning of "Dao" in TCM;5)theory of TCM and modern clinic.
