Effect analysis of montelukast sodium in children with chronic cough

Objective To analyze the clinical effect of montelukast sodium in children with chronic cough.Methods A total of 98 children with chronic cough were divided into observation group and control group according to random numerical table,with 49 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional medicine,and the observation group was treated with montelukast sodium chewable tablets on the basis of the control group.The therapeutic effect,cough disappearance time,cough remission time and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate 91.84%of the observation group was significantly higher than 71.43%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The cough disappearance time(14.34±3.21)d and cough remission time(9.24±3.12)d of the observation group were obviously shorter than(18.24±4.12)and(12.41±3.49)d of the control group.All the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions of the observation group was obviously lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Montelukast sodium has obvious effect and less adverse reactions in the treatment of children with chronic cough.At the same time,it can effectively shorten the cough remission time and disappearance time,which is worthy of wide promotion in clinical practice.
