Abstract: | A decrease in the blood levels of cholestrol, phospholipids, and free fatty acids was observed in rats receiving the biguanide phenformin (5–25 mg daily by mouth) from the first to eighth day of pregnancy, but no developmental anomalies of the fetuses or placenta were found. The acceptability of biguanide administration during pregnancy is discussed.Presented by Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR A. I.
