| Abstract: | Tight blood glucose control is a primary aim of type 2 diabetes treatment. Combining metformin with the amino acid derivative, nateglinide, tackles both beta cell dysfunction and insulin resistance, and produces a greater decrease in haemoglobin A1c levels than treatment with either drug alone. |
