AimThis integrative review aims to explore the relationship between feedback and evaluative judgement in undergraduate nursing and midwifery education.BackgroundResearch in higher education has shown that feedback practices can lead to students’ developing evaluative judgement; thought critical for performance improvement and life-long learning. While literature in nursing and midwifery education has not yet employed the term ‘evaluative judgement’ explicitly, there might be similar concepts and practices that seek to develop students’ judgement of performance that sustain learning beyond the immediate task.DesignAn integrative review of the nursing and midwifery feedback literature.MethodsIn February 2020, six online databases (CINAHL, ProQuest, Scopus, ERIC, PsycINFO, Ovid MEDLINE) were systematically searched for literature published between January 1989-February 2020. Synonyms for feedback and evaluative judgement were used to inform our search. This review included a rigorous team-based, five-stage approach: (1) identifying the problem; (2) conducting the search; (3) evaluating the data; (4) analysing the data; and (5) presenting the integrative review.ResultsA total of 1408 studies were initially retrieved with 543 duplicates. 865 abstracts were screened using eligibility criteria, resulting in the exclusion of 835 studies. Thirty full-text studies were appraised for quality. Eighteen studies with diverse methodologies achieved a medium-high quality score for inclusion in data analysis. Conceptions of feedback and evaluative judgement were identified in all studies; despite none using the term 'evaluative judgement' explicitly. Thematic analysis of the studies resulted in seven themes: conceptions of feedback, purposes of feedback, sources of feedback, modes of feedback, conceptions of evaluative judgement, purposes of evaluative judgement and relationships between feedback and evaluative judgement.ConclusionsWhile our findings supported contemporary higher education research, the feedback-evaluative judgement relationship is novel in nursing education. We encourage educators to design feedback activities privileging students’ active engagement through dialogic feedback, reflection and self-assessment, to develop their evaluative judgement of practice. 相似文献

ObjectiveTo determine the long-term cardiovascular disease risk of astronauts with spaceflight exposure compared with a well-matched cohort.MethodsNational Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) astronauts are selected into their profession based upon education, unique skills, and health and are exposed to cardiovascular disease risk factors during spaceflight. The Cooper Center Longitudinal Study (CCLS) is a generally healthy cohort from a preventive medicine clinic in Dallas, Texas. Using a matched cohort design, astronauts who were selected beginning April 1, 1959, (and each subsequent selection class through 2009) and exposed to spaceflight were matched to CCLS participants who met astronaut selection criteria; 1514 CCLS participants matched to 303 astronauts in a 5-to-1 ratio on sex, date of birth, and age. The outcome of cardiovascular mortality through December 31, 2016, was determined by death certificate or National Death Index.ResultsThere were 11 deaths caused by cardiovascular disease (CVD) among astronauts and 46 among CCLS participants. There was no evidence of increased mortality risk in astronauts (hazard ratio [HR]=1.10; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.50 to 2.45) with adjustment for baseline cardiovascular covariates. However, the secondary outcome of CVD events showed an increased adjusted risk in astronauts (HR=2.41; 95% CI, 1.26 to 4.63).ConclusionNo increased risk of CVD mortality was observed in astronauts with spaceflight exposure compared with a well-matched cohort, but there was evidence of increased total CVD events. Given that the duration of spaceflight will increase, particularly on missions to Mars, continued surveillance and mitigation of CVD risk is needed to ensure the safety of those who venture into space. 相似文献

尽管嵌合抗原受体(CAR)T细胞治疗在血液系统恶性肿瘤患者中取得了显著的临床疗效,但需要进一步优化。脂质纳米粒(LNP)-信使核糖核酸(mRNA)递送系统作为一种非病毒性基因载体运用于CAR-T细胞治疗研究中,一方面通过LNP将密封蛋白-6 mRNA靶向递送至抗原提呈细胞,从而实现抗原提呈细胞辅助性增强密封蛋白-6靶向的CAR-T细胞的功能,以进一步诱导对实体瘤的清除;另一方面,通过LNP将成纤维细胞激活蛋白(FAP)CARmRNA靶向递送至T细胞,实现体内FAP靶向的CAR-T细胞的制备,以通过阻断心脏纤维化过程达到治疗急性心肌损伤的目的。在CAR-T细胞研究和治疗中,LNP-mRNA递送系统具有不与细胞基因组整合、价格便宜、毒副作用小及可修饰等优点,亦存在蛋白瞬时表达导致调控细胞功能的持久性不足及制备等方面的技术局限性。本文综述了LNP-mRNA递送系统及其在CAR-T细胞治疗中的应用研究。 相似文献

孤立性远端深静脉血栓(IDDVT)是一种常见的临床疾病,目前对该病的认识取得了一定的进展,但也存在不少争议。本文首先介绍了IDDVT在不同研究中观察到的颇具异质性的发病率,回顾了有关该病自然病程的研究,发现IDDVT仍然具有较低的进展为近端深静脉血栓(PDVT)和肺栓塞(PE)的风险。对比多种诊断方法后认为,血管加压超声(CUS)检查是IDDVT的最佳诊断方式,且对疑似IDDVT患者可选择动态近端CUS检查或全腿CUS检查,可有效监测IDDVT进展情况并指导临床治疗。综合IDDVT的治疗研究和国内外临床指南,目前建议对于高风险IDDVT患者,采用与PDVT/PE相同的抗凝治疗方案;而对于低风险IDDVT患者,则采用动态CUS检查。 相似文献
