Huajuhong(Exocarpium Citri grandis,ECG)is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine and has been used for the treatment of respiratory diseases for hundreds of years.Recently,ECG has been listed in a traditional Chinese medicine formula in the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019(sixth edition)in China.To date,the effect and mechanism of ECG against respiratory diseases have not been systematically reviewed.In this paper,the researchers summarized the effects of ECG and its pharmacologically active compound naringin in functioning as an antitussive and expectorant,improving lung function,alleviating acute lung injury,attenuating pulmonary fibrosis,and enhancing antiviral immune response,so as to provide a reference for its clinical application in the prevention and treatment of multiple respiratory diseases,including coronavirus disease 2019.  相似文献

Objective To explore the mechanism of Pi(Spleen)-deficiency-induced functional diarrhea(FD)model rats treated by Shenling Baizhu Powder(参苓白术散,SBP).Methods Thirty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 5 groups including control,model,low-,medium-,and high-dose SBP groups(SBPLDG,SBPMDG,SBPHDG),6 rats in each group,respectively.Pi-deficiency-induced FD rats model was developed through Radix et Rhizoma Rhei gavage for 7 days.After modeling,the rats were treated with 3 doses of SBP[0.93,1.86,and 3.72 g/(kg·d)],and the rats in the control and model groups were given pure water for 7 days.The diarrhea index was calculated.On the 7th and 14th days,the traveled distance of rat was measured by the open field test.Serum D-xylose content was determined by the phloroglucinol method and interleukin(IL)-10 and IL-17 levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit.The content of Treg cells was determined by flow cytometry.Results Compared with the control group,the diarrhea index and IL-17 level in the model group were significantly higher and the total exercise distance and D-xylose content significantly decreased(P>0.05).The expression of IL-10 in the SBPHDG group was significantly up-regulated,and serum D-xylose level and Treg cells increased significantly compared with the model group(P>0.05).Conclusion High-dose SBP exhibited ameliorating effects against Pi-deficiency induced FD,which might be attributed to its modulations on intestinal absorption function as well as adaptive immunity in mesenteric lymph nodes of rat.  相似文献

In a previous study,we found that long non-coding genes in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)are a result of endogenous gene disorders caused by the recruitment of microRNA(miRNA)and mRNA,and that miR-200a-3p and other representative miRNAs can mediate cognitive impairment and thus serve as new biomarkers for AD.In this study,we investigated the abnormal expression of miRNA and mRNA and the pathogenesis of AD at the epigenetic level.To this aim,we performed RNA sequencing and an integrative analysis of the cerebral cortex of the widely used amyloid precursor protein and presenilin-1 double transgenic mouse model of AD.Overall,129 mRNAs and 68 miRNAs were aberrantly expressed.Among these,eight down-regulated miRNAs and seven up-regulated miRNAs appeared as promising noninvasive biomarkers and therapeutic targets.The main enriched signaling pathways involved mitogen-activated kinase protein,phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-protein kinase B,mechanistic target of rapamycin kinase,forkhead box O,and autophagy.An miRNA-mRNA network between dysregulated miRNAs and corresponding target genes connected with AD progression was also constructed.These miRNAs and mRNAs are potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for new treatment strategies,early diagnosis,and prevention of AD.The present results provide a novel perspective on the role of miRNAs and mRNAs in AD.This study was approved by the Experimental Animal Care and Use Committee of Institute of Medicinal Biotechnology of Beijing,China(approval No.IMB-201909-D6)on September 6,2019.  相似文献

Representative studies concerning the pharmacology of traditional medicine and active herbal products have been summarized over the past 12 months.This annual integrative pharmacology review encompasses research articles published during 2019 on the bioactive compounds and extracts used in traditional medicine.Reports highlighting the pharmacology progress of traditional medicine were specifically introduced,including artemisinin for cancer cell sensibility and induction to ferroptosis,rutin for neuroinflammation suppression,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma for gut microbiota regulation against obesity,green tea and Pu-erh tea for metabolic syndrome,and marine-derived oligosaccharide(GV-971)from brown algae for anti-dementia.Moreover,novel TCM molecular targets and pharmacological mechanisms were trialed against different human diseases,including cancers,cardiovascular,cerebrovascular diseases,diabetes,and metabolic diseases.Notably,herb-derived bioactive products have become important treatment alternatives for cancer research in 2019.Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,together with diabetes and metabolic diseases,are ongoing research areas for traditional medicine.Moreover,inflammation and infectious disease are also attracting more attention by researchers,which might have been influenced by seasonal influenza or HIV/Ebola viral infections.Further traditional medicine investigations are required in neurodegenerative diseases,depression,and mental diseases.Taken together,the findings of the integrative pharmacology review in 2019 provide a vast number of novel lead compounds or drug candidates for future clinical agent development and also details a novel series of attractive therapeutic targets and molecular mechanisms for human diseases.  相似文献

Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and cellular Src (cSrc) are closely associated with inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress in hypertension, so we designed this study to explore the exact role of c-Src in the mechanism of action of the TLR4 signaling pathway in salt-induced hypertension. Salt-sensitive rats were given a high salt diet for 10 weeks to induce hypertension. This resulted in higher levels of TLR4, activated c-Src, pro-inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress, and arterial pressure. Infusion of a TLR4 blocker into the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) decreased the activated c-Src, while microinjection of a c-Src inhibitor attenuated the PVN levels of nuclear factor-kappa B, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and oxidative stress. Our findings suggest that a longterm high-salt diet increases TLR4 expression in the PVN and this promotes the activation of c-Src, which upregulates the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and results in the overproduction of reactive oxygen species.Therefore, inhibiting central c-Src activity may be a new target for treating hypertension.  相似文献
