Personality differences are important determinants of problematic online behaviors. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of loneliness, depression, and online gaming motives and moderating role of age on the relationship between trait emotional intelligence (EI) and Internet gaming disorder (IGD) via the construction of a multiple mediation model. A total of 478 online gamers completed a self-report online survey, including validated psychometric scales assessing the aforementioned constructs. Results indicated that trait EI was directly and indirectly associated with IGD and that the motive of escape was a partial mediator between trait EI and IGD among the total sample and adult gamers, but not among adolescents. Moreover, trait EI was associated with coping, skill development, fantasy, and recreation gaming motives only among total sample and adult gamers, and the escape motive was positively associated with IGD among total sample and adult gamers. However, among these relationships, only the association between trait EI and fantasy was significantly moderated by age group. Furthermore, the direct effect of trait EI was stronger among adolescent gamers when compared to adult gamers. Results showed that trait EI is inversely associated with IGD and affects gaming for different motives among adolescent and adult gamers.
Medical Microbiology and Immunology - HCMV hyperimmunoglobulin-preparations (HIG) contain high concentrations of HCMV-specific IgG. The reduced maternofetal-HCMV-transmission rate of IgG may be due... 相似文献
Linear scleroderma "en coup de saber" (LSCS) deformity is a subgroup of scleroderma characterized by unilateral atrophy and depression above the level of the eyebrow. In rare cases where it involves the whole unilateral face it can be mistaken with Parry-Romberg syndrome. Involvement of the trunk and extremities together with facial lesions has been extremely rare in the literature. We report an unusual case of linear scleroderma "en coup de sabre" where there is concomitant involvement of the ipsilateral side of the trunk and lower extremity. The patient's facial deformity is reconstructed with a polyethylene implant. 相似文献
The aim of this study was to evaluate the depth of cure of composite resin cured within simulated root canals by means of light-transmitting plastic posts, glass-fiber-reinforced composite posts, and conventional light curing method. Thirty black plastic cylinders measuring 15 mm in length and 4 mm in internal diameter were divided into three groups. The composite resin was packed into simulated canals. The light-transmitting plastic posts and glass-fiber-reinforced composite posts were inserted into simulated canals and light cured for 90 seconds. The control group was light cured directly. To ensure continual change of material properties by increasing the length of material, a surface microhardness test was done 2 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, and 14 mm from the light exposure surface. The results showed a significant increase in microhardness of composite resin (depth of cure) for both light-transmitting plastic posts and glass-fiber-reinforced composite posts compared with the control group. The microhardness of composite resin was also significantly higher with light-transmitting plastic posts than glass-fiber-reinforced composite posts after 8 mm. 相似文献
This study evaluated the effect of thermocycling on the tensile strength and tear resistance of four long-term soft denture liners. One light-activated (Astron Light, AL), two chemically activated (GC Reline Soft, GC; Silagum Comfort, SC), and one heat-cured (Molloplast-B, MLP) soft liner materials were tested. Dumbbell and trouser-leg specimen geometries were used for tensile strength and tear resistance tests, respectively. A total of 120 specimens were prepared. Test specimens for each material (n=5) were subjected to thermal cycling for 1000 and 3000 cycles between 5 degrees C and 55 degrees C in a thermocycler. Before thermocycling, AL gave the lowest tensile strength, while SC exhibited the highest tear resistance value among the materials tested (p < 0.05). Thermal cycling significantly affected the tensile strength of AL as well as the tear resistance values of AL, MLP, and GC materials. This in vitro study revealed that the tensile strength and tear resistance values of the soft liner materials tested varied according to their chemical compositions. 相似文献
Guided tissue regeneration is based on preventing the more rapidly proliferating epithelium from growing into the periodontal
defect after surgical procedures incorporating barrier membranes. The aim of this study was to compare the proliferative activity
of gingival epithelium using proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) as a marker of cell proliferation after surgical treatments
with bioactive glass graft material and bioabsorbable membrane. Using split mouth design, 20 intrabony defects were randomly
assigned treatments with bioactive glass (BG group) or bioabsorbable membrane (BM group). Gingival biopsies were taken at
preoperative and postoperative 12 weeks. After histological processing, the number of the inflammatory cells was measured
in hematoxylin and eosin-stained sections; PCNA expression was determined in immunohistochemically-stained sections. At postoperative
12 weeks, the number of the inflammatory cells was significantly decreased (p < 0.01), PCNA expression was significantly increased (p < 0.001) in both treatment groups compared to baseline data. There was no significant difference in PCNA expression between
baseline values of two groups (p > 0.05), while at postoperative 12 weeks, increase in BG group was significantly greater than that in BM group (p < 0.001). These results suggest that epithelial cell proliferation is more prominent after treatment of intrabony defects
with bioactive glass compared to the treatment with bioabsorbable membrane. 相似文献
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effects of 2% chlorhexidine and 5.25% sodium hypochlorite on the surface properties of Resilon cones with the atomic force microscopy. The Resilon cones were immersed in disinfecting agents (5.25% sodium hypochlorite and 2% chlorhexidine) at 1 and 5 min time intervals. Atomic force microscopy was used to evaluate topographical deviations of Resilon cones. Root mean square (RMS) parameters for topographic amplitudes were calculated. The cones exhibited statistically significant low RMS values at 5-min immersion in sodium hypochlorite and chlorhexidine groups compared to the all other groups (p < 0.05). One-minute immersion did not show any significant deterioration on the Resilon surface (p > 0.05). In conclusion, sodium hypochlorite and chlorhexidine solutions used for disinfection significantly decreased (p < 0.05) the RMS values of Resilon cones at 5-min applications. 相似文献
