Scarifications are frequently seen in the passage from adolescence to adulthood. Their nosographic context has expanded to include defensive behavior in reaction to the difficulties of assuming autonomy, or those associated with separation, to an attempt to express acute anxiety in borderline states or in certain cases of psychosis.The transition to adulthood is a particularly exacting period for girls. In a society that places value upon visual appearance, the bodily changes that take place during puberty and the occurrence of the first menstruations are often a traumatic experience, and may temporarily inhibit the acceptance of womanhood. Self-mutilations constitute a corporal limit that may facilitate the adolescent's acceptance of the bodily change towards full femininity.As in the myth of Narcissus, scarifications or superficial cutaneous incisions are a means of providing the possibility of withdrawal into oneself; in an attempt to control underlying tension and anxiety the adolescent voluntarily causes blood to appear and disappear through self-mutilation, so that it is no longer perceived as a menace. Scarifications therefore allow girls an appropriation of the female body, and thus may be a means of their coming to terms with the metamorphosis that is taking place. This hypothesis has been illustrated through a specific case history.  相似文献

R 75251, a new imidazole derivative, inhibited the conversion of androgens to estrogens, of progestins to androstenedione and testosterone, and of 11-deoxycorticosterone to corticosterone in human placenta microsomes, subcellular fraction of rat testis, bovine adrenocortical mitochondria, in cultured rat granulosa, testicular and adrenal cells, respectively. In vitro, no effect on cholesterol synthesis and cholesterol side-chain cleavage was found at concentrations up to 10 microM. In rat granulosa cells, no effect on progesterone production was detected. In vitro, no effect on steroid radioligand binding was observed. In male volunteers, a single dose of 300 mg of R 75251 significantly lowered plasma testosterone and estradiol for 24 hours and increased plasma concentration of 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone and progesterone. As compared with ketoconazole high dose (600 mg b.i.d), R 75251 (300 mg b.i.d) was at least as efficacious as inhibitor of testosterone synthesis when studied during ACTH stimulation. In contrast to ketoconazole, R 75251 did not significantly affect circulating adrenal androgen levels in male volunteers. Precursors of gluco- and mineralocorticoids such as 11-deoxycortisol and 11-deoxycorticosterone accumulated more than after ketoconazole administration. The data show that the cytochrome P450-dependent aromatase, 17-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase, and 11-hydroxylase are the target enzymes for R 75251.  相似文献

A method for producing carrier free 66Ga (T1/2:9.4h; +) by 4He bombardment of natural copper targets is presented. 66Ga is formed by means of the 63Cu (4He, n) 66Ga reaction. Production yields are given in the 17.5 to 8 MeV 4He energy range. Chemical purification of 66Ga from the copper target is described. The only radionuclidic impurity found in the final product was 67Ga. Albumin colloids from commercially available kits designed for use with 99mTc could easily be labeled with 66Ga and employed for studies of the lymphatic system by positron emission tomography.  相似文献

The main problem with palliative treatment of extrahepatic cholestasis with an endoscopic biliary endoprosthesis is clogging. One of the factors thought to be of importance is the diameter of the stent. In order to avoid being limited by the size of the instrumentation channel of the endoscope, expandable stents have been developed. In this article we report on our preliminary clinical experience with an endoscopically placed expandable metal stent ("Wallstent") in 33 patients with extrahepatic bile duct stenoses. When fully expanded, the stent has a diameter of 30 F and a length of 6.7 cm. It was possible to successfully place a stent in every patient. Clinical improvement was achieved in all patients except one. Two patients underwent elective surgery, while one died of renal failure. Another died of septic shock after 5 weeks, but no autopsy was performed. In conclusion, our initial experience with this stent shows that at least in the short term biliary drainage was excellent, with no complications of pancreatitis or hemorrhage. Longer follow-up than our 4 weeks is necessary to establish the position of this stent in comparison with the conventional endoprosthesis in the management of obstructive jaundice.  相似文献

This study investigated the effect of adenosine in the forced swimming test (FST) and the tail suspension test (TST) in mice, and the contribution of adenosine A1 and A2A receptors to adenosine's antidepressant-like effect. The immobility time in the FST was reduced by adenosine given either by i.p. (5-10 mg/kg) or i.c.v. (0.01-10 microg/site) route. Adenosine (1-10 mg/kg, i.p.) also produced an antidepressant-like effect in the TST. No treatment affected locomotion in an open-field. The anti-immobility effect of adenosine (10 mg/kg, i.p.) in the FST was prevented by i.p. pretreatment of mice with caffeine (3 mg/kg), DPCPX (2 mg/kg) and ZM241385 (1 mg/kg). CHA (0.05 mg/kg, i.p.) and DPMA (1-5 mg/kg, i.p.) also produced an antidepressant-like effect in the FST. This is the first report of an antidepressant-like effect of adenosine in mice, apparently mediated through an interaction with A1 and A2A receptors.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The monoclonal antibody (mAb) 14C5 is a murine IgG1 directed against a yet undefined molecule involved in cell substrate adhesion found on the surface of malignant breast cancer tissue. mAb 14C5 is able to inhibit cell substrate adhesion and invasion of breast cancer cells in vitro. In normal tissues as well as in the stroma surrounding in situ carcinomas of the breast, no expression of the antigen 14C5 occurs. The aim of this study was to investigate the in vitro and in vivo targeting properties of 123I- and 131I-labeled mAb 14C5 as a novel agent for radioimmunodetection and radioimmunotherapy. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN: Internalization of mAb 14C5 was investigated with 125I-labeled mAb 14C5 and by confocal laser scanning microscopy. Biodistribution studies of 131I-labeled mAb 14C5 and planar gamma imaging were done in nude mice bearing an A549 (non-small cell lung carcinoma) or a LoVo (colon carcinoma) tumor. RESULTS: Internalization studies with both A549 and LoVo cells showed that 125I-labeled mAb 14C5 is slowly internalized with approximately 30% of the initially bound mAb 14C5 internalized after 2 hours at 37 degrees C. Internalization of mAb 14C5 could be visualized with confocal laser scanning microscopy. In vivo, radioisotope uptake peaked at 24 hours for both tumor models (n = 5) with no significant difference in percentage of injected dose/g tissue (A549 10.4 +/- 0.8 and LoVo 9.3 +/- 0.8). Via planar gamma camera imaging, A549 lung tumors as well as LoVo colon tumors could be clearly visualized. CONCLUSIONS: The in vitro and in vivo targeting properties of 123I- and 131I-labeled mAb 14C5 are promising and could provide a new antibody-based agent for radioimmunodetection and radioimmunotherapy of patients bearing antigen 14C5-expressing tumors.  相似文献

Perineal wound complications are frequently observed after abdominoperineal resection (APR) for rectal cancer, especially in preoperatively irradiated patients. This is the first study to investigate whether local application of gentamicin-impregnated collagen fleece reduces deep perineal wound infection after APR for rectal cancer following short-term radiotherapy.  相似文献
