The aim of this study is to investigate the efficiency of elastic light single-scattering spectroscopy system, a noninvasive method, to acquire spectra during testicular biopsy from normal and damaged seminiferous tubules with various degrees of germ cell loss. Adult control rats and doxorubicin-injected rats to achieve seminiferous germ cell loss (for 10 days [10D], 20 days [D20], 30 days [D30], 40 days [D40], and 50 days [D50]) were used. Spectroscopic measurements were acquired utilising a single-fibre optical probe, and histopathology of the biopsied testicular tissue samples were compared. Time-dependent testicular damage comprising various degrees of seminiferous tubule degeneration after doxorubicin-administration was observed. In D30, D40 and D50 groups, where significant germ cell loss was identified, elastic light single-scattering spectroscopy system signals were well correlated with disturbed spermatogenesis where significant differences in spectral signals were obtained. Our findings indicate that the elastic light single-scattering spectroscopy system has the potential to enable instant imaging of spermatogenesis in rats and could also be useful in humans for clinical applications, such as to increase sperm recovery success during micro-TESE for men with nonobstructive azoospermia. 相似文献

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a rare skin disorder, characterized by acute development of numerous, pin-head sized, nonfollicular pustules on erythematous skin, with high fever and neutrophilia. The condition is frequently caused by hypersensitivity reaction to drugs or viral infections. Diagnosis is established according to clinical and histological criteria. Herein, we report a 17-year-old girl with localized AGEP related to the use of amoxicillin-clavulanate. 相似文献

Brain abscess is an uncommon intracranial suppurative infectious disease, especially in children. The clinical presentation, treatment and outcome of 75 children with brain abscesses admitted to the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine were retrospectively analyzed. Seventy-five cases of brain abscess within a 28-year period were included in this study. Fever and headache were the most common presenting symptoms. Cyanotic congenital heart disease was the most common predisposing factor. The most common pathogen was Streptococcus spp. Although congenital heart disease remained the most common predisposing factor for development of intracerebral abscess, the rate of immunocompromised diseases as a predisposing factor of brain abscess has increased in recent years, and better management of otogenic infections also influences the prevalence of the disease. 相似文献

A six-year-old boy from Eastern Anatolia was admitted to our outpatient clinic with abdominal pain and hyperleukocytosis. His leukocyte count was 50 x 10(9)/L with an 80% eosinophilia. Serological investigation was positive at a titration of 1/2560 for Fasciola hepatica. Hepatomegaly with linear hypoechogenic strains, which is typical for F. hepatica, was seen on abdominal ultrasonography. He was successfully treated with triclabendazole, 10 mg/kg/day. He is now under follow-up without any complaints. Hypereosinophilia mimicking leukemia is not an expected finding. To our best knowledge, high leukocyte count with F. hepatica in a child has not been reported in the literature until now. 相似文献
