Introduction and Aim: The indiscriminate use and adverse effects of the main conventional antifungal agents compromise the effectiveness of treating vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), mainly caused by the species Candida albicans. This study evaluated the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and the in vitro and in vivo anti-candida potential of the hypericin (HYP)-loaded nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC). Materials and Methods: Empty NLC and NLC-HYP were characterized by the dynamic light scattering technique and transmission electron microscopy to evaluate the average particle size distribution and its morphologies. The in vitro inhibition photodynamic effect of the systems was tested to reduce the planktonic viability of C. albicans. The therapeutic assay photodynamic of the systems was performed to treat VVC in mice. Results: Empty NLC and NLC-HYP presented values of average hydrodynamic diameter, polydispersity index, and ζ-potential from 136 to 133 nm, 0.16 to 0.22, and -18 to -30 mV, respectively, on day 30. Microscopically, the systems showed spherical morphologies and nanoscale particles. Furthermore, in the in vitro inhibition assay, the treatment of PDT with NLC-HYP (NLC-HYP+) showed a significant reduction of the C. albicans planktonic viability compared to YNB negative control after 5 min of LED light irradiation. In the in vivo therapeutic assay, the antifungal group (vaginal antifungal cream) and NLC-HYP+ evaluated in the dark and by PDT, respectively, had a significant log10 reduction in fungal burden compared to the infected group on day 8 of the VVC treatment. Conclusion: Due to the in vitro and in vivo anti-candida potential, PDT-mediated systems can be an effective strategy in VVC therapy.  相似文献

There is evidence that serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25-(OH) D] levels may be associated with cardiovascular disease and its risk factors. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between 25-(OH) D levels and blood pressure (BP), blood lipids, and arterial elasticity in middle-aged and elderly cadres in China.In this retrospective study, we included 401 civil servants and cadres aged >42 years who underwent medical examinations at Guiyang Municipal First People''s Hospital, China in 2018. The participants were assigned to deficiency (≤20 ng/mL), insufficiency (20–30 ng/mL), and sufficiency (≥30 ng/mL) groups according to 25-(OH) D levels in their blood. Demographics, brachial–ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV), BP, ankle–brachial index (ABI), and blood lipids were compared among groups. The associations between 25-(OH) D and other parameters were evaluated using linear regression analysis.Median (range) 25-(OH) D levels in the deficiency (n = 162), insufficiency (n = 162), and sufficiency (n = 77) groups were 15.32 (2.93–19.88), 25.12 (20.07–29.91), and 33.91 (30.23–82.42) ng/mL, respectively. There were significant differences in systolic BP, pulse pressure, baPWV (left and right sides), ABI (left side), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, and triglycerides (TGs; all P < .05) among groups. Multivariate linear regression revealed that TG, left baPWV, and right baPWV were significantly negatively correlated with 25-(OH) D levels (all P < .05).In this study, 25-(OH) D levels were found to be associated with TG, left baPWV, and right baPWV values. 25-(OH) D deficiency may be associated with reduced arterial elasticity.  相似文献

目的 研究结直肠腺瘤发生相关的危险因素,为结直肠早癌病变的筛查及诊疗提供预警信息。方法 选取2014年1月至2020年6月于河北医科大学第二医院行结肠镜检查经病理诊断为结直肠腺瘤的患者1 126例作为病例组,以同期行结肠镜检查结果阴性的患者1 800例作为对照组。收集患者性别、年龄、吸烟史、饮酒史、排便习惯(正常、腹泻、便秘、腹泻与便秘交替)、总胆固醇及甘油三酯水平等资料。进行多因素Logistic回归分析,探究上述因素对结直肠腺瘤发生的影响。为了进一步排除混杂因素的干扰,组间1∶1匹配,进行多因素条件Logistic回归分析,探究结直肠腺瘤发生的独立危险因素。结果 多因素Logistic回归分析显示,性别、年龄、饮酒史、吸烟史、排便习惯、总胆固醇和甘油三酯水平为结直肠腺瘤发生的独立危险因素(P<0.05)。多因素条件Logistic回归分析显示,排便习惯及甘油三酯水平是结直肠腺癌发生的独立危险因素,慢性腹泻、慢性便秘患者发生结直肠腺瘤的风险高于排便习惯正常者(P<0.05),甘油三酯水平较高患者发生结直肠腺瘤的风险高于甘油三酯水平正常者(P<0.05)。结论 排便习惯及甘油三酯水平是结直肠腺瘤发生的独立危险因素,慢性腹泻、慢性便秘、甘油三酯升高者发生结直肠腺瘤风险更高。  相似文献

摘要:目的探讨高三酰甘油(TG)腰围表型与糖尿病前期及2型糖尿病(T2DM)发病风险的关系。方法从参与2011年4—11月四川省泸州地区2型糖尿病患者肿瘤发生风险流行病学调查研究的基线调查者中筛选出1 722例糖耐量正常者,以血TG≥1.7 mmol/L、男性腰围≥90 cm或女性腰围≥80 cm为切点,分为TG和腰围正常组(856例)、单纯高三酰甘油血症组(133例)、单纯腹型肥胖组(518例)、高三酰甘油血症-腰围表型(HTWC)组(215例),行5年随访观察,比较各组间糖尿病前期及T2DM发病情况。结果随访5年后,1 722例糖耐量正常者中共445例发展为糖尿病前期,67例发展为T2DM。TG和腰围正常组、单纯高三酰甘油血症组、单纯腹型肥胖组、HTWC组糖尿病前期发病率分别为20.7%(177/856)、21.1%(28/133)、30.5%(158/518)、38.1%(82/215),T2DM发病率分别为2.9%(25/856)、3.8%(5/133)、4.4%(23/518)、6.5%(14/215)。在调整了年龄、性别、空腹血糖、餐后2 h血糖、收缩压、糖化血红蛋白后,多分类无序Logistic回归分析结果显示,HTGW表型人群的糖尿病前期及T2DM发病风险较正常组升高,其OR(95%CI)分别为1.961(1.387~2.773)与2.638(1.279~5.441)。结论HTWC表型是糖尿病前期及T2DM患病的危险因素,可作为筛选两者高风险人群的简便指标。  相似文献

The aim of this systematic review and meta‐analysis was to analyze the effects of grape seed extract (GSE) on glycemic control and serum lipoproteins, inflammation and body weight. Two independent authors systematically searched online databases including EMBASE, Scopus, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science from inception until May 30, 2019. Cochrane Collaboration risk of bias tool was applied to assess the methodological quality of included trials. The heterogeneity among the included studies was assessed using Cochrane's Q test and I‐square (I2) statistic. Data were pooled using a random‐effects model and weighted mean difference (WMD) was considered as the overall effect size. Fifty trials were included in this meta‐analysis. Pooling effect sizes from studies demonstrated a significant decrease in fasting plasma glucose (FPG) (WMD): ?2.01; 95% confidence interval (CI): ?3.14, ?0.86), total cholesterol (TC; WMD: ?6.03; 95% CI: ?9.71, ?2.35), low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (WMD: ?4.97; 95% CI: ?8.37, ?1.57), triglycerides (WMD: ?6.55; 95% CI: ?9.28, ?3.83), and C‐reactive protein (CRP) concentrations (WMD: ?0.81; 95% CI: ?1.25, ?0.38) following GSE therapy. Grape seed did not influence HbA1c, HDL cholesterol levels, and anthropometric measurements. This meta‐analysis demonstrated that GSE intake significantly reduced FPG, TC, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and CRP levels.  相似文献

Chylous ascitis is a rare cause of ascitis. Most of the time, it results of retroperitoneal lymph node or duct dissection during abdominal or urological surgery; it is rarely due to lymphatic obstruction (neoplasia). Nutritional damage is major and severely impairs prognosis. Malnutrition is due to the necessity to avoid fatty acid in meal to reduce chylous leakage. Diagnosis is based on patient's clinical history and cytologic and biochemical ascitis analyses. Treatment combines the correction of nutritional status and therapy of the causative disease. Oral diet or enteral nutrition with low content of long chain triglyceride, thus enriched in medium chain triglyceride, is the major therapeutic option of chylous ascitis.  相似文献
