Aim: This study aims to research whether there is a relationship between first trimester nuchal translucency (NT) measurements and pregnancy complications such as gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), gestational hypertension (GHT), intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and oligohydramnios.
Method: This study included 225 singleton pregnancies attending Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic for all monitoring and examinations, and gave birth at our clinic between January 2011 and December 2012. Data sources were clinical records and the hospital's automation system, and the study was planned as retrospective cohort. NT measurement was made between 10 weeks 3 days and 13 weeks 6 days gestation. For data analysis, the chi-square, Mann–Whitney U test and Spearman correlation were used.
Results: Of pregnancies, in the study, 5 (2.2%) developed GDM, 6 (2.6%) developed GHT, 2 (0.89%) developed IUGR and 10 (4.4%) developed oligohydramnios. There was no correlation identified between NT measurements and development of GDM, GHT, IUGR and oligohydramnios.
Conclusion: There was no relationship found between first trimester NT measurements and complications that could develop in pregnancy. For the first time in the literature, NT and oligohydramnios were studied and no relationship was observed. 相似文献
Objective: To evaluate the performance of first trimester biochemical markers, pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A), free beta human chorionic gonadotropin (fβ-hCG), and nuchal translucency (NT) in detection of severe congenital heart defects (CHDs).
Methods: During the study period from 1 January 2008 to 31 December 2011, biochemical markers and NT were measured in 31,144 women as part of voluntary first trimester screening program for Down’s syndrome in Northern Finland. Data for 71 severe CHD cases and 762 controls were obtained from the hospital records and from the National Medical Birth Register, which records the birth of all liveborn and stillborn infants, and from the National Register of Congenital Malformations that receives information about all the CHD cases diagnosed in Finland.
Results: Both PAPP-A and fβ-hCG multiple of median (MoM) values were decreased in all severe CHDs: 0.71 and 0.69 in ventricular septal defects (VSDs), 0.58 and 0.88 in tetralogy of Fallot cases (TOFs), 0.82 and 0.89 in hypoplastic left heart syndromes (HLHSs), and 0.88 and 0.96 in multiple defects, respectively. NT was increased in all study groups except of VSD group. ROC AUC was 0.72 for VSD when combining prior risk with PAPP-A and fβ-hCG. Adding NT did not improve the detection rate. With normal NT but decreased (<0.5 MoM) PAPP-A and fβ-hCG odds ratios for VSD and HLHS were 19.5 and 25.6, respectively.
Conclusions: Maternal serum biochemistry improves the detection of CHDs compared to NT measurement only. In cases with normal NT measurement but low concentrations of both PAPP-A and fβ-hCG, an alert for possible CHD, especially VSD, could be given with thorough examination of fetal heart in later ultrasound scans. 相似文献
??Objective To evaluate the clinical aesthetic efficacy of ultra-thin veneers for anterior teeth. Methods Totally 126 anterior teeth of 54 patients were chosen and restored in Department of Prosthodontics??Nanjing Stomatological Hospital between February 2012 and February 2013. Ultra-thin ceramic veneers were made from IPS e.max Press HT ??high translucency?? lithium disilicate glass ceramic ingots??and cemented with light-cured resin cement. Patients were interviewed and examined at 1 month??6 months??1 year??2 years??3 years??4 years and 5 years respectively. The clinical evaluation of ultra-thin ceramic veneers was carried out with reference to the criteria of USPHS from the aspects of secondary caries??marginal suitability??appearance??color match and integrity. Results Totally 126 anterior teeth were restored with ultra-thin ceramic veneers made of IPS e.max Press. After 1 month??2 veneers ??1.6%?? were B class in color match??and the other indicators were A class. At 6 months??1year and 2 years after restoration??all veneers achieved A class in each evaluation indicator. After 3 years??gap was detected at the margin of 2 veneers ??1.6%????which were B class in marginal suitability. After 4 years??2 veneers ??1.6%?? were C class in integrity with 1mm incisal fracture. At 5 years after restoration??1 veneer ??0.8%?? was C class in integrity with disto-incisal fracture; slight discoloration was observed in 5 veneers ??4.0%????which were B class in color match??and one veneer was lost in follow-up. All the veneers were clinically effective with no sensitivity symptoms??no secondary caries or gingivitis. Conclusion Ultra-thin ceramic veneers have the advantages of excellent translucency??natural appearance and acceptable marginal suitability??and have been an ideal choice for anterior aesthetic restoration. 相似文献
