ObjectiveThe objective of the study was to estimate the determined dose rate in the urine collection bag of patients undergoing bone scintigraphy.MethodThe 99m Tc-methylene diphosphonate accumulated activity eliminatedin urine was estimated and calculated by the Committee on Medical Internal Radiation Dose 14 method. This allowed the calculation of the dose rate emitted at distances of 10, 50, and 100 cm and the creation of a simulation collection bag to validate the calculations by means of measurements carried out with a Geiger Müller counter in the same situations. A linear regression test was performed to verify the significant difference between the measurements and validate the dose rate estimate.ResultsThe calculated and measured dose rates showed the highest values at a distance of 10 cm up to 3 hours after administering the radiopharmaceutical to the patient. After this period, as the collection bag was emptied for image acquisition, the dose rate was close to the background radiation.ConclusionThe maximum accumulated activity in the urine collection bag, and consequently, the maximum dose rate, occurs at the time of emptying the bag for image acquisition. Therefore, in addition to exposure to radiation, there is a considerable risk of contamination by ionizing radiation for the professional who performs the procedure. To minimize this risk and the exposure, the recommendation is to use personal protective equipment and to consider radiological protection factors, which are shorter exposure time, longer distance, and greater barrier between the professional and the radioactive source. 相似文献

目的 掌握江西省临床核医学应用频度和受检者的分布特点,估算2017年全省临床核医学应用频度。方法 对全省范围内开展临床核医学工作的各级医疗机构进行普查,以发放调查问卷的形式对样本医院进行应用频度调查与分析。结果 除正电子发射断层扫描(PET)检查男性多于女性外,其余临床核医学诊疗项目均为女性多于男性;全省临床核医学诊疗应用频度为0.67人次/千人口,其中诊断频度为0.58人次/千人口,治疗频度为0.09次/千人口。结论 与"九五"期间相比,江西省临床核医学应用频度迅猛发展,有必要进一步规范核医学诊疗工作,增强核医学工作人员的放射防护意识,促进核医学健康有序地发展。 相似文献

Wound inflammation is a rapid and highly orchestrated process that significantly impacts the wound healing cascade. Consequent to injury, a series of events set off that include inflammatory, proliferation and maturation phases leading to wound closure and restoration of normal skin integrity. Stimuli causing stress to host immune system or induce inflammatory response include tissue damage and pathogenic microbial infection.Several evidences points towards the positive role of inflammation as it essential to fight against the attack of invading pathogens and to remove dead tissues from the site of injury. Besides its positive role, prolonged inflammation is injurious and may result in deregulated stages of the wound healing which may lead to excessive scarring. Achieving balance in inflammatory cascade is one of the challenging tasks for development of a wound healing drug.This review mainly focuses on the pharmacological control of inflammation by agents which critically balance the inflammatory cascade. However, none of the agent is available in the healthcare market which exclusively plays a role in wound repair. In this review we shall explore different factors or agents affecting inflammation in wound healing. This information might be helpful in designing and development new process, technologies or drugs for better management of wound care. In addition, understanding the effect of inflammation on the outcome of the healing process will serve as a significant milestone in the area of pathological tissue repair. 相似文献

目的 探讨特殊涉核环境人员与普通环境非涉核人员黄斑区厚度的差异性。方法 在某基地年度体检时为特殊涉核环境人员(简称涉核人员)与普通环境非涉核人员(简称非涉核人员)增加眼科光学相干断层扫描(Optical coherence tomography,OCT)检查,测量黄斑区厚度值,每人测量3次,按照体检表末尾编号随机抽取204例编号为奇数的涉核人员和105例非涉核人员,取3次测量值的平均值进行比较。结果 涉核人员与非涉核人员两组年龄均值为(29.40 ±6.16)岁、(28.92 ±6.71)岁,P = 0.5325,无统计学差异。两组人员视力均值:涉核人员为(1.04 ±0.03)(右),(1.05 ±0.03)(左),非涉核人员为(1.00 ±0.05)(右),(1.02 ±0.05)(左),P = 0.5006(右),P = 0.5962(左),无统计学差异。涉核人员黄斑区厚度均值:(212.9 ±1.3) μm(右),(205.5 ±1.1) μm(左),P < 0.0001,两者比较差异有统计学意义;非涉核人员黄斑区厚度均值:(223.2 ±2.5) μm(右),(211.7 ±2.4) μm(左),P < 0.0001,两者比较有统计学差异。对涉核人员与非涉核人员右眼及左眼黄斑区厚度均值进行比较,P = 0.0003(右),P = 0.0217(左),均有统计学差异。结论 非涉核人员黄斑区厚度要厚于涉核人员。与涉核人员特殊工作环境中较多使用LED光源可能存在关联;其他因素包括涉核、气压、氧分压及人员的心理状态需要进一步的试验进行证明。 相似文献

BackgroundInflammatory response and acute lung injury (ALI) occur in sodium taurocholate-induced severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Because sildenafil has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and immune-modulating effects, we investigated its effect on inflammatory and lung injury in sodium taurocholate-induced SAP-associated ALI rat lung.MethodsSodium taurocholate-induced SAP rats received sildenafil (100 mg/kg) or not and were compared to age-matched normal control animals. We evaluated inflammatory response by detecting the expression of inflammatory factors including IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α, and detected the level of lung injury through histopathological evaluation. Moreover, we also tested the protein expression of PCNA, P21, Bcl-2 and Bax in the lung.ResultsSildenafil administration rats had a low level of lung injury and inflammation. In addition, sildenafil significantly increased the expression of proliferation-related markers and decreased the expression of apoptosis-related markers in lung tissue.ConclusionsSildenafil administration may attenuate inflammation and lung injury by promoting proliferation and suppressing apoptosis in SAP rats. 相似文献

IntroductionAdverse events in radiology are quite rare, but they do occur. Radiation safety regulations and the law obligate organizations to report certain adverse events, harm and near misses, especially events related to patients' health and safety. The aim of this study was to describe and analyse incidents related to radiation safety issues reported in Finland.MethodsThe data were collected from incident reports documented by radiology personnel concerning notifications of abnormal events in medical imaging made to the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority between 2010 and 2017. During these eight years, 312 reports were submitted. Only events reported from radiology departments were included; nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and animal radiology cases were excluded. The final number of reports was 293 (94%).ResultsThe majority of the 293 approved reports were related to computed tomography (CT, 68.3%) and to X-ray examinations (27.6%). Altogether 82.9% of those irradiated were adults, most of whom were exposed to unnecessary radiation through CT (86.5%), 5.5% were children, and 4.4% pregnant women. The most common effective dose of unnecessary radiation was 1 mSv or less (89.7% of all examinations). The highest effective doses were reported in CT (from under 1 mSv–20 mSv and above). The reasons for the adverse events were incorrect identification (32%), incorrect procedure, site or side (30%); and human errors or errors of knowledge (20%).ConclusionAdverse events occurred especially in CT examinations. It is important to collect and analyse incident data, assess the harmful events, learn from them and aim to reduce adverse events.Implications for practiceThis study emphasizes the need for radiological personnel to obtain evidence-based information on adverse events and focus on training to improve patient safety. 相似文献
