Reliability and first validity of the inner correspondence questionnaire for painting therapy (ICPTh) in a sample of breast cancer patients

Objectives Art therapy (ArT) such as mindfulness-oriented painting therapy is increasingly used in psychosomatic, oncological integrative and rehabilitative medicine. Though it remains unknown how ArT works, we hypothesize that an engaged participation with painting (‘Inner-Correspondence’) contributes to improved symptom scores. In the context of a comprehensive cohort study for breast cancer survivors with cancer-related fatigue, we developed a patient-reported outcome measure to assess ‘Inner Correspondence’ with painting therapy and conducted a first validation study.Design A 24-item questionnaire on ‘Inner Correspondence’ (ICPTh) was administered after ten weeks of intervention and at six month followup together with concurrent scales (Inner Correspondence and Peaceful Harmony, Cancer Fatigue Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Internal Coherence Scale). Statistical assessment included reliability- and factor analyses.Results A total of n = 68 BC (mean age, 58.2 years, SD = 8.7) participated in the preliminary validation study. Exploratory factor analysis revealed a robust 22-item scale with an unambiguous four-factor solution explaining 78% of total variance and the following subsales: 1) therapy congruence and relaxation (11 items), 2) inner development and mood (6 items), 3) artistic skill (3 items) and 4) task congruence (2 items). The 22-item ICPTh yielded high reliability (Cronbach’s alpha = .966, item-total correlation = .497 – .883, test-retest reliability = .888).Conclusions We present a reliable instrument to measure ‘Inner Correspondence’ with painting therapy. Due to the small sample size and sample selection further validation studies are indicated.

La enseñanza de la medicina a través de la pintura

IntroductionThe loss of humanization in the practice of medicine forces us to reflect on how to improve teaching in undergraduate and graduate medical degrees. One of the tools to use could be a return to the teaching and practice of the medical humanities and the use of pictorial works by established authors as a tool in the teaching of medicine.MethodsBibliographic and digital review related to the objective of the study.ResultsThe selected pictorial works have been grouped into 3 sections: How is teaching of medicine represented on the canvases?; how are diseases reproduced in tables?, and how can we teach our students to be doctors through painting?ConclusionThe humanities stimulate medical sensitivity and should be used as teaching tools.

晚明时期通州文人范凤翼致力于交游结社，是山茨社、白门社、兰社的灵魂人物。山茨社寓含鲜明的政治态度，先后绵延近二百年，堪称社集传奇；白门社名流翕集，规模宏大，盛极一时；兰社是明代为数不多、规模最大的画社，诗、画渗透交融。三社互为补充，相得益彰，均属艺文色彩鲜明的文人活动，在明清文人结社史上具有独特意义。     

人21号全染色体涂染探针的制备及其唐氏综合征诊断的应用研究

目的人21号染色体DNA涂染探针的制备及其应用于唐氏综合征诊断的研究。方法将显微分离的人21号染色体DNA进行简并寡核苷酸引物PCR（Degenerate Oligonucleotide Primed—PCR,DOP—PCR）扩增并标记制备成杂交探针后,与15例唐氏征疑似患者的外周血细胞核染色体进行荧光原位杂交（Fluorescence in situ hybridization,FISH）分析;同时以常规核型分析进行确诊并评估FISH结果。结果FISH分析诊断结果与常规核型分析一致,其中8例为非唐氏征患者,7例为唐氏征患者,准确率为100％,且非唐氏征患者与唐氏征患者细胞核中21号染色体的检出率分别高达99．12％和99．08％。结论制备的人21号全染色体DNA涂染探针能精确检测人类中期和间期细胞核中21号染色体的数目,该探针可用于唐氏综合征的诊断。     

绘画疗法对慢性精神分裂症的康复效果

目的探讨绘画疗法对精神分裂症的远期疗效。方法将80例精神分裂症患者随机分成绘画组和对照组各40例,分别进行药物加用绘画治疗和单纯药物治疗。用BPRS量表和自知力与治疗态度问卷(ITAQ)、社会功能缺陷筛选量表(SDSS)于入院时、出院时和出院后1年对患者进行评估。结果治疗后两组BPRS、ITAQ评分、治疗依从性和社会功能均较治疗前有明显改善,但以绘画组显著较好(P0.05);并维持至出院后1年仍显著优于对照组(P0.05)。入院时绘画组和对照组SDSS评分分别为(10.7±1.3)分和(10.3±1.2)分,出院后1年分别为(7.2±0.9)分和(4.2±0.8)分,以绘画组优于对照组(P0.05);病情复发率和再住院率均以绘画组显著较低(P0.05)。结论绘画治疗增强了精神分裂症病人的治疗依从性,提高了自知力,对精神分裂症患者的治疗效果能长期保持,有效降低病人的复发率和再住院率,有益于精神分裂症病人的社会功能恢复。     

绘画治疗对精神分裂症患者自尊水平的影响

目的 探讨绘画治疗对精神分裂症患者自尊水平的影响.方法 将60名病情稳定的长期住院精神分裂症患者随机分成2组,对干预组在原有治疗的基础上进行3个月的绘画创作治疗,在干预前、后分别采用自尊量表进行评定.结果 绘画创作治疗后干预组患者的自尊量表得分显著高于对照组(t=5.755,P＜0.01).结论 绘画创作治疗可以提高精神分裂症患者的自尊水平.     

Measurement of toluene and xylene metabolites by gas chromatography

Summary A new method for analyzing urinary hippuric and methyl hippuric acids by gas chromatography was developed. As well the direct analysis of hippuric acids as the determination of their alkaline hydrolytic products, benzoic and toluic acids, are described. Results of the two different methods are compared and discussed. The method was applied to workers occupationally exposed to paints containing mainly toluene and xylene. The urinary hippuric acid concentrations were related to the level of toluene and xylene in blood.
