AIM: Term pregnancy complicated by premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is thought to be associated in part with subclinical infection, and places mothers and neonates at an increased risk for several complications. Therefore, perinatal care would be greatly helped if a reliable clinical measure were available for predicting the incidence of PROM. METHODS: One hundred and ninety-six pregnant women who consented to enter this study were screened using a method developed to assess active ceruloplasmin in cervicovaginal secretion as a clinical marker for predicting the incidence of PROM. Cervicovaginal secretions were obtained from the cervical canal at about 36 weeks of pregnancy. The active ceruloplasmin level in the cervicovaginal secretion was measured using an original enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay. RESULTS: Of 196 women, 27 women (13.8%) developed PROM and 169 women (86.2%) did not develop PROM. Active ceruloplasmin in the cervicovaginal secretion was significantly higher in the PROM group than in the non-PROM group (P < 0.001). Analysis using receiver-operating characteristic curves showed that the active ceruloplasmin level (1420.0 ng/mL) proved to be the proper cut-off value to best predict the incidence of PROM. CONCLUSION: Active ceruloplasmin in the cervicovaginal secretion might be a reliable clinical marker for term PROM. 相似文献

目的 探讨脑缺血对大鼠皮层及海马中铜蓝蛋白(Ceruloplasmin,Cp)表达的影响.方法 雄性Wistar大鼠60只,随机分为脑缺血1、3、7、28 d组和假手术对照组,每组各12只.实验组结扎双侧颈总动脉造成大鼠脑缺血,假手术对照组仅分离出双侧颈总动脉但不结扎.采用反转录聚合酶链反应(RT-PCR)检测皮层及海马组织中Cp mRNA的表达,免疫组织化学观察皮层及海马组织中Cp的表达.结果 大鼠皮层和海马均表达Cp mRNA.皮层和海马Cp mRNA的表达随缺血时间的延长逐渐降低,缺血1、3、7、28 d组表达均低于假手术组(P<0.01).脑组织脉络丛细胞、室管膜细胞、皮层和海马的星形胶质细胞、血管内皮细胞均表达Cp;而皮层和海马的锥体细胞和颗粒细胞均不表达Cp.缺血1 d组皮层及海马Cp表达与对照组差异不显著(P>0.05);缺血3 d组皮层和海马Cp表达低于假手术组(P<0.05);缺血第7、28 d组Cp表达减少极为显著(P<0.01).脑缺血大鼠皮层和海马中铁含量与Cp的表达呈负相关,相关系数分别为-0.831(P<0.01)和-0.809(P<0.01).结论 脑缺血可诱导大鼠皮层及海马中Cp表达降低.脑缺血后Cp表达减少可能参与了脑缺血引起的铁含量升高及神经元铁沉积的过程. 相似文献

Ceruloplasmin levels and erythrocyte superoxide dismutase activity in small preterm infants during the early anemia of prematurity. Acta Paediatr Scand, 70: 861, 1981.-Ceruloplasmin plasma levels and erythrocyte superoxide dismutase activity were studied in appropriate for gestational age preterm infants (birth weights ≤1500 g) during the first 10 weeks of life. Preterm infants had significantly lower ceruloplasmin concentrations in cord blood than term infants, the mean level in the preterm infants being 0.07 g/I. At 1 week of age ceruloplasmin levels had risen significantly, whereupon a fall occurred at 2 weeks of age. Ceruloplasmin concentrations increased slowly and progressively from 4 weeks of age. The low ceruloplasmin concentration during the early anemia of prematurity seems not to interfere with iron mobilization. The superoxide dismutase activity per gram hemoglobin in cord blood erythrocytes from normal term infants was significantly lower than that of red blood cells from adults. When the activity was expressed per erythrocyte no difference was found. The normochromic macrocytic red blood cells of the neonate most likely explain this discrepancy. The erythrocyte superoxide dismutase activity of the preterm infants did not change from birth until 10 weeks of age, and the levels seemed adequate judged from the levels found in red blood cells from adults and cord blood from term infants. Neither ceruloplasmin nor erythrocyte superoxide dismutase activity seem to play a role in the etiology of the early anemia of prematurity. 相似文献

Background: Intraperitoneal spread of gynecologic cancers is a major cause of mortality and morbidity and often presents with malignant ascites. Microscopic tumor spread can be demonstrated by a peritoneal wash cytology and help assess the prognosis of the disease. In our study, the roles of paraoxonase and ceruloplasmin, measured in peritoneal washing fluid of patients operated for gynecologic pathologies in differential diagnosis was investigated. Materials and Methods: Patients operated for malign or benign gynecologic pathologies in Antalya Education and Research Hospital Gynecology Clinic between 2010-2012 were included in the study. Samples were obtained during surgery. Results: A statistically significant difference was detected between patients with benign and malign diseases with regards to PON1 levels measured in peritoneal washing fluid (p:0.044), the average values being 64.2±30.8 (Range 10.8-187.2) and 41.4±21.4 (Range 10.4-95.5), respectively. No significant variation was evident for ceruloplasmin. Conclusions: Paraoxonase levels measured in peritoneal washing fluid may contribute to the differentiation of malign-benign diseases in gynecologic pathologies. 相似文献

Background: Acute leukaemia is characterized by fast growth of abnormal clones of haemopoietic precursorcells inside bone marrow leading to undue accumulation in the bone marrow. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL) is the most common form of childhood cancer. Materials and Methods: The study concerned 50 childrendiagnosed with ALL (mean age, 8.55±2.54) compared to 40 healthy controls (mean age, 8.00±1.85). The Hb,serum copper , ceruloplasmin oxidase, advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs), total antioxidant activity(TAA) and protein were measured in all groups.One proteinous component was isolated by gel filtrationchromatography from the precipitate produced by polyethylene glycol. Results: Significantly higher levels ofAOPP, copper and decrease in total antioxidant activity were noted in the cases. Statistical analysis also showeda significant increase (p<0.01) in the activity of serum ceruloplasmin oxidase in patients with ALL compared tonormal subjects .The maximum velocity (Vmax) and Michaelis constant had values of 104.2 U/L and 11.7 mM,respectively. The ΔH* values for ceruloplasmin oxidase in ALL patients were positive, confirming the reaction tobe endothermic. Conclusions: The results from this study showed a significant increase in AOPP, ceruloplasmineoxidase and decrease in total antioxidant activity .These parameters may play a role in development of DNAdamage in childhood patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).The ΔS* and ΔG* values were negative,these refer that the reaction of ES formation is spontaneous, but needs energy in a so-called endergonic reaction.Also the negative ΔS* value of ceruloplasmin oxidase indicates that the complex [ES*] is further modulatedthrough increasing structure arrangement. 相似文献
