Summary: Oral administration of carbamazepine (CBZ)(15, 10, or 5 mg/kg) to mice significantly decreased both humoral and cellular immune responses evaluated by enumeration of direct and indirect plaque-forming spleen cells (PFC) and delayed–type hypersensitivity reaction (DTH) against sheep red blood cells (SRBC) as compared with those observed in normal control animals. Moreover, spleen T cells obtained from CBZ–treated donor mice were capable of decreasing both PFC and DTH responses of normal spleen cells transferred into lethally irradiated recipient animals. The immunodepressor effect of CBZ was observed even though administration of CBZ induced augmentation of spleen cellularity. 相似文献

Hypersensitivity reactions occurring during barium studies of the gastrointestinal tract are rare. A case is presented with radiographically demonstrated angioedema in the stomach and small bowel accompanied by allergic rhinitis, which was apparently an allergic response to the barium sulfate suspension. BACKGROUND: It has been proposed that alcohol consumption may be one of the lifestyle factors associated with a westernized, urban, and affluent lifestyle contributing to the rise in atopic disease. OBJECTIVE: The aim was to investigate the association between alcohol consumption and atopy (aeroallergen sensitization). METHODS: In 1982, a population-based cross-sectional study of 3608 Danes (79% of the invited), aged 30, 40, 50, and 60 years, was carried out. Information on alcohol consumption was obtained by a questionnaire. Aeroallergen sensitization was defined as a positive test for the detection of specific IgE against a panel of 19 common inhalant allergens in stored serum samples. A total of 3317 subjects with complete information on all variables were included in the analyses. RESULTS: We found a statistically significant association between alcohol consumption and aeroallergen sensitization (independent of the type of alcoholic drink consumed). This association appeared to relate only to those who consumed more than 8 drinks/week. After adjustment for confounders this association was only statistically significant for those who consumed 15-21 drinks/week (adjusted odds ratio 1.8, 95% confidence interval 1.2-2.8). CONCLUSION: In this adult general population, self-reported alcohol consumption was positively associated with aeroallergen sensitization. 相似文献

目的研究支气管哮喘(简称哮喘)过敏性刺激诱发气道感觉神经敏化机制。方法成年雄性豚鼠39只,按随机数字表法分为生理盐水致敏/激发对照组(A组,9只)、卵白蛋白(OVA)致敏/生理盐水激发对照组(B组,9只)、OVA致敏/激发实验组(C组,21只)。A组以生理盐水(0.5ml/只)致敏,B、C组以10%OVA(0.5ml/只)致敏,第10天开始雾化吸入生理盐水(A、B组)或1%OVA(C组)进行激发,每天1次,每次30min,根据实验需要又将C组21只豚鼠分为激发1d组(C1组,6只)、连续激发3d组(C2组,6只)、连续激发5d组(C3组,9只)。利用免疫荧光双标技术结合激光共聚焦扫描显微观察与Westernblot技术,研究生长相关蛋白43(GAP43)在气道神经以及结状神经节、颈静脉神经节内分布与水平及与P物质(SP)和胶质源神经生长因子(GDNF)受体c RET表达神经元关系。结果免疫荧光结果显示,C3组豚鼠气道内GAP43免疫反应阳性神经呈网状分布于大、中支气管内,以黏膜下层为主,部分GAP43阳性神经纤维向黏膜层内延伸;在结状神经节和颈静脉神经节内有大量GAP43免疫阳性神经胞体,在结状神经节内主要与SP免疫阳性胞体共存,在颈静脉神经节内主要与c RET免疫阳性胞体共存。Westernblot结果显示,A、B、C1、C2、C3组GAP43蛋白表达水平吸光度(A)值分别为0.38±0.04、0.41±0.03、0.49±0.05、0.79±0.08、0.76±0.04。C1、C2、C3组分别与A、B组比较差异均有统计学意义(P均0.05);C2组GAP43蛋白表达与C1组比较差异有统计学意义(P<0.01),但与C3组GAP43蛋白表达比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论哮喘过敏性刺激能诱发气道感觉神经———SP肽能神经、GDNF敏感性神经纤维与胞体表达GAP43蛋白。 相似文献

Extrinsic denervation may be responsible for motor dysfunction after small bowel transplantation. The aim of this study was
to examine the role of extrinsic innervation of canine jejunum on contractile activity. An in vitro dose response of cholinergic
and adrenergic agonists was evaluated in canine jejunal strips of circular muscle at 0, 2, and 8 weeks in a control group
and after jejunoileal extrinsic denervation (EX DEN). Neurons in circular muscle were quantitated by means of immunohistochemical
techniques. Adrenergic and cholinergic responses did not differ at any time in the control group. However, at 2 and 8 weeks,
extrinsic denervation caused an increased sensitivity to the procontractile effects of the cholinergic agonist bethanechol
at the level of the smooth muscle cells, and increased sensitivity to the inhibitory effects of the adrenergic agent norepinephrine
mediated at the level of the enteric nervous system. Immunohistochemical analysis showed a reduction in all neurons and a
complete lack of adrenergic fibers in the EX DEN group after 2 and 8 weeks. Extrinsic denervation induces enteric neuronal
cholinergic and adrenergic smooth muscle hypersensitivity in canine jejunal circular muscle.

BACKGROUND: Previous studies have shown a 10-fold discrepancy of self-reported food-induced symptoms and physician-diagnosed food hypersensitivity. Little information is available on the prevalence of food hypersensitivity in unselected paediatric populations. No data were available for German children. OBJECTIVE: To study the perception of food-induced symptoms in the paediatric population, to investigate the allergens accused, to objectify patients' reports, and to identify subgroups at risk of having food-induced allergy (FA) or non-allergic food hypersensitivity (NAFH) reactions. METHODS: This paper presents the data of the paediatric group (0-17 years) of a representative, randomly sampled, cross-sectional population-based survey studying 13 300 inhabitants of the German capital city Berlin regarding food-related symptoms. Instruments included mailed questionnaires, structured telephone interviews, physical examination, skin-prick tests, specific serum IgE and standardized, controlled and blinded oral food challenges. RESULTS: Two thousand three hundred and fifty-four individuals were contacted by mailed questionnaire, 739 (31.4%) responses could be fully evaluated. Four hundred and fifty-five (61.5%) participants reported symptoms related to food ingestion, 284 (38.4%) affirmed reproducible symptoms in the standardized telephone interview. One hundred and eighty-four (24.8%) individuals were fully examined. Reproducible symptoms to food were found in 31 (4.2%) children and adolescents: 26 (3.5%) showed symptoms of FA and five (0.7%) of NAFH. The oral allergy syndrome was most often observed. Foods most commonly identified by oral challenges were apple, hazelnut, soy, kiwi, carrot and wheat. CONCLUSION: The perception of food-related symptoms is common among children and adolescents from the general population. Self-reports could be confirmed in around one out of 10 individuals, still resulting in 4.2% of proven clinical symptoms. However, most reactions were mild and mainly because of pollen-associated FA, while NAFH reactions were less common. Severe IgE-mediated FA was observed in individuals with pre-existing atopic disease, who should be fully investigated for clinically relevant FA. 相似文献

This study was designed with two purposes: first, to elucidate immunologic mechanisms in different cutaneous reactions, particularly in hypersensitivity to mosquito bites, and, second, to develop a more reliable and safer method of identifying the causative species of mosquito in severe cases. The amounts of IgG, IgG4 and IgE specific to the mosquito salivary gland extract of Aedes albopictus were determined in the sera of 116 volunteers with normal reactions, either immediate or delayed, and 4 patients with severe systemic symptoms caused by mosquito bites. Titers of IgG and IgE in the severe cases were considerably higher than in volunteers with normal reactions, but there were no differences in IgG, titers between the two groups. These results indicate that high titers of IgG and IgE may be involved in development of systemic symptoms in severe cases and verify the possibility of in vitro tests to identify causative species of the mosquito. 相似文献
