膳食纤维分析方法的简化

对ＳｅｌｖｅｎｄｒａｎＲＲ等人的冷中性洗涤剂纤维提取分析法（ＣＮＤＦ）进行简化，改变了各溶剂的处理时间，省去了湿球研磨与超声波处理步骤。将原法中ＳＬＳ－ＰＡＷ－ＤＷＳＯ处理时间１５ｈ，３０ｍｉｎ和１６ｈ分别延长为２２ｈ，４０ｍｉｎ与２２ｈ，化学分析与透射电镜观察结果表明，简化法对膳食纤维的提取分析效果与原推荐法相同，更加方便与实用。     

Efficacy of ivermectin for chronic strongyloidiasis: two single doses given 2 weeks apart

We assessed the efficacy and adverse effects of ivermectin for the treatment of chronic strongyloidiasis. Fifty patients were treated with a single dose of ivermectin at approximately 200 μg/kg, and the dose was repeated 2 weeks later. The eradication rate was 96% (48 of 50 patients) at 2 weeks after the first dose and 98% at 2 weeks after the second dose (49 of 50 patients). In the latter cases, no recurrence was noted at the end of the 4-month post-treatment follow-up period. The gastrointestinal symptoms observed most frequently before the treatment were borborygmus, constipation, and diarrhea. These symptoms improved in the majority of patients after the treatment. Side effects, including nausea and vomiting, occurred in 1 patient (2%), but these were mild and transient. Although abnormal values in laboratory tests were observed in 4 patients (8%), they were mild, and no particular clinical care was required. Thus, ivermectin showed an excellent antihelminthic effect, with little toxicity. Our results indicate that a regimen of two single doses of 200 μg/kg ivermectin, given 2 weeks apart, is clinically suitable for the treatment of chronic strongyloidiasis. 两种检测血清结合胆红素方法的结果比较

[目的]比较2，4-二氯苯胺重氮法（DCA）和钒酸盐氧化法检测血清结合胆红素的结果。[方法]根据NCCLS（EP6-P）评价方案，评估两种方法的相关性和偏倚。[结果]两种方法的检测结果相关性良好（r=0．9985），Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ组检测结果无差异，Ⅳ组结果有差异。[结论]应建立与方法学相对应的血清结合胆红素参考值范围。     

Magnetic resonance imaging reveals no ventriculomegaly in polydrug abusers

Previous studies of cerebral structure in substance abusers yielded controversial results, largely due to issues of subject selection and/or limitations of experimental techniques. The purpose of the present study was to assess whether the ventricle-to-brain ratio (VBR), determined volumetrically by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), differed in polysubstance abusers (n = 10), as compared with age-matched controls (n = 10). Subjects were male volunteers 21–39 years of age. The values of VBR in the polydrug abuse group were not larger than those in control group, nor was there any tendency toward relative ventriculomegaly in the substance abusers. Therefore, the present findings provide no evidence that polysubstance abuse produces abnormalities of gross brain structure in relatively young and physically healthy men.     

A Novel Application of the MIRC Repository in Medical Education

Medical students on the radiology elective in our institution create electronic presentations to present to each other as part of the requirements for the rotation. Access was given to previous students presentations via the web-based system, Medical Imaging Resource Center (MIRC) project, created and supported by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). RadPix Power 2 MIRC (Weadock Software, LLC, Ann Arbor, MI) software converted the Microsoft PowerPoint (Redmond, WA) presentations to a MIRC-compatible format. The textual information on each slide is searchable across the entire MIRC database. Future students will be able to benefit from the work of their predecessors.     

PENA方法的建立及与ELISA IgM检测CMV的比较

目的　介绍一种敏感、稳定、快速、简便的实验室检测CMV的方法 ,同时探讨该种新方法与ELISA检测CMV方法的优、缺点。方法　对 5 5 2例病人应用间接荧光免疫法测定细胞核中的特异病毒早期抗体 (PENA)和ELISA法测定IgM抗体。结果　PENA方法 :强阳性 88例 ,阳性率 15 4 9% ,弱阳性 2 73例 ,阳性率 5 9 4 6 % ;ELISA -IgM方法 :阳性 34例 ,阳性率6 16 %。结论　PENA方法操作简便 ,与ELISA方法相比较 ,可对CMV感染进行早期测定及诊断 ,并可区分既往感染和即时感染 ,具有敏感性和稳定性 ,是测定小儿CMV感染的一种较好的方法     

2450MHz介质复介电常数的测量

目的测量2450MHz频率下蒸馏水和不同浓度NaCl溶液的复介电常数,用以判定系统的可靠性和稳定性.方法根据微扰法得到复介电常数的测量公式,然后通过实验对已知参数的蒸馏水和NaCl溶液进行测量,并计算其复介电常数和电导率,验证计算结果的可靠性和稳定性.结果对计算结果进行统计分析和误差分析,其均值、标准差和变异系数表明,最终结果可与M.I.T标准较好地吻合.结论这种系统可较好地测量2450MHz频率下高损耗介质的复介电常数,测量系统的主要误差是由介质体积的误差引起的,因此精确测量介质体积是测量生物组织等高损耗介质复介电常数的关键.     

Determination of glucokinase and hexokinase activity in liver extracts previously purified on Molselect G-50 dextran gel

Hexokinase and glucokinase activity in the supernatant of a rabbit liver homogenate obtained at 18,000g was determined by a spectrophotometric method. Preliminary purification to remove low-molecular-weight components by gel filtration on Molselect G-50 dextran was shown to prevent reduction of NADP unconnected with the hexokinase reaction.Presented by Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR V. Production of genetically modified cells expressing specific transgenes by retroviral vectors for gene therapy

Summary Techniques and protocols are described for the generation of genetically modified cells that can be used for gene therapy. Primary fibroblast cultures are established from skin biopsies, maintained in culture, frozen for long-term storage, and retrieved when necessary. Retroviral packaging cell lines are generated by transfection of DNA into retroviral packaging cells by calcium-phosphate precipitation method or by lipofection method. To generate cell lines expressing high titer virus, individual colonies of cells are cloned and the virus titer is determined. Virus collected from packaging cells expressing high titer virus is then used to infect primary fibroblasts. To obtain fibroblast cell lines expressing high amounts of transgenes, individual cells can be cloned to generate clonal cell lines. Although the methods described here are for fibroblasts, the same methods or modification of the methods can be used for other cell types.     

To what extent is the tibia-calcaneum angle a reliable measurement of the triceps surae length? Radiological correction of the torque-angle curve (III)

Summary Previous papers gave some methods for the reliable measurement of the tibia-calcaneum angle. It is of common use to evaluate the physical properties of triceps surae on the basis of torque-angle curves. However this method is reliable only if each tibia-calcaneum angle corresponds to a defined distance between the insertions of the muscle in subjects of the same height. Evidence is given by radiological measurements that this correspondance is correct in normal children. However, this is no longer true in certain cerebral palsied children because of abnormal translation of the calcaneum and/or abnormal ratio of bone sizes. In this case the torque-angle curves do not define properly the torque-length curves. A method of correction is given.
