Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) have been widely deployed in healthcare institutions, and they now constitute
a normal commodity for practitioners. However, its installation, maintenance, and utilization are still a burden due to their
heavy structures, typically supported by centralized computational solutions. In this paper, we present Dicoogle, a PACS archive
supported by a document-based indexing system and by peer-to-peer (P2P) protocols. Replacing the traditional database storage
(RDBMS) by a documental organization permits gathering and indexing data from file-based repositories, which allows searching
the archive through free text queries. As a direct result of this strategy, more information can be extracted from medical
imaging repositories, which clearly increases flexibility when compared with current query and retrieval DICOM services. The
inclusion of P2P features allows PACS internetworking without the need for a central management framework. Moreover, Dicoogle
is easy to install, manage, and use, and it maintains full interoperability with standard DICOM services. 相似文献

随着PACS的临床应用的飞速发展,PACS系统在医学影像学的实习教学中也体现出巨大的优势:PACS系统能够帮助实习生能够迅速进入实习状态,有助于影像专业知识的学习效率,有助于医学生提高计算机应用知识与能力,减轻带教老师的负担。利用PACS系统进行实习教学的需要注意的问题包括:在PACS系统为实习生设定适当的权限;注意临床实践操作与基本理论相结合;提倡“影像、临床和病理三结合模式”的学习方法;培养良好的医学影像诊断工作习惯;实习带教老师要注意教学方法的改革。 相似文献

目的探讨影像学与病理学图文资料库的建立及其在临床教学中的应用价值。方法收集影像科和病理科的诊断信息和相关图像,建立影像-病理图文资料库,其中包括影像-病理诊断信息数据库、图文资料库及图像资料库,按照设定的教学题目查找相关的教学素材,包括诊断信息、图文及图像资料,共有40名相关人员使用了该资料库,并就该资料库在教学中的应用价值接受了问卷调查。结果按照设定的教学题目,40名使用者均在影像和病理图文资料库中顺利地查找到了所需求的教学素材(包括诊断信息、图文和图像资料)。调查结果显示:40名使用者均认为该资料库便于影像与病理诊断信息的查找与核对、影像与病理图文和图像资料的查找,36人认为有助于理论知识的理解与融会贯通,36人认为该资料库的建立在教学实践中有进一步推广的价值。在教学实践中的应用效果包括:改进了教学方式,提高了学习效果和兴趣,促进了学科和学术发展。结论影像与病理图文资料库的建立在临床教学工作中有较好的应用和推广价值。 相似文献

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: Most health care facilities currently struggle with protecting medical data privacy, misidentification of patients, and long patient waiting times. This article demonstrates a novel system for a clinical environment using wireless tracking and facial biometric technologies to automatically monitor and identify staff and patients to address these problems. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The design of the location tracking and verification system (LTVS) was based on a workflow study which was performed to observe the physical location and movement of patient and staff at the Healthcare Consultation Center II (HCC II) running hospital information systems, radiology information systems, picture archive and communication systems, and a voice recognition system. Based on the results from this workflow study, the LTVS was designed using a wireless real-time location system and a facial biometric system integrated with the radiology information system. The LTVS was tested for its functionality in a laboratory environment, then evaluated at HCC II. RESULTS: Experimental results in the laboratory and clinical environments demonstrated that patient and staff real-time location information and identity verification can be obtained from LTVS. Warning messages can immediately be sent to alert staff when patient's waiting time is over a predefined limit, and unauthorized access to a security area can be audited. Additionally, patient misidentification can be prevented during the course of examinations. CONCLUSIONS: The system enabled health care providers to streamline the patient workflow, protect against erroneous examinations and create a security zone to prevent, and audit unauthorized access to patient health care data required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act mandate. 相似文献

The implementation of digital radiography in dentistry in a large healthcare enterprise setting is discussed. A distinct need
for a dedicated dental picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) exists for seamless integration of different vendor
products across the system. Complex issues are contended with as each clinical department migrated to a digital environment
with unique needs and workflow patterns. The University of Florida has had a dental PACS installed over 2 years ago. This
paper describes the process of conversion from film-based imaging from the planning stages through clinical implementation.
Dentistry poses many unique challenges as it strives to achieve better integration with systems primarily designed for imaging;
however, the technical requirements for high-resolution image capture in dentistry far exceed those in medicine, as most routine
dental diagnostic tasks are challenging. The significance of specification, evaluation, vendor selection, installation, trial
