ObjectivesThis study aimed to investigate the efficacy of a vacuum myofascial therapy device (VT) for improving pressure pain thresholds (PPTs), range of motion (ROM), neck pain-related disability, pain, and quality of life in patients with non-specific neck pain.MethodsA randomized controlled trial in which thirty-eight participants with non-specific neck pain (NP) were randomly assigned to either an experimental (VT) or a comparison physical therapy program (PTP) group. The VT group (n = 19) received five sessions of treatment with a vacuum myofascial therapy device while the PTP group (n = 19) received five sessions of massage, ultrasound therapy (US), and transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS) over two weeks. The outcome measures were the numerical pain rating scale (NPRS), range of motion, quality of life (SF-12), neck disability Index (NDI), and PPTs at the end of treatment and at one-month follow-up.ResultsAlthough both groups experienced improvements in pain, neck disability, range of motion, and pressure pain, these only were statistically significant in the VT group. At one-month follow-up, the VT group still showed improvements in pain, neck disability, and range of motion.DiscussionVacuum myofascial therapy applied with a device offers similar results to other vacuum-based techniques such as cupping therapy. Objective: The study explored the semantic content and origins of negative self-beliefs, and their functional links to “not eating enough” and other behaviors, in participants with anorexia nervosa (AN). Method: Fifteen women meeting DSM-IV criteria for AN were compared with 17 dieting and 18 non-dieting women matched on age and number of years of education. The main outcome measure was a semi-structured interview. Results: Six themes were identified in the beliefs of participants with AN. These were, in order of decreasing frequency, powerlessness (present in all but three AN participants), failure, defectiveness, unattractiveness, worthlessness and emptiness. Importantly, powerlessness and failure beliefs were consistently present independent of Beck Depression Inventory-II scores. The negative early life experiences associated with these beliefs had high distress and responsibility ratings. Participants with AN reported that they employed specific behaviors, particularly ‘not eating enough,’ and ‘placating others,’ to try to reduce the cognitive and emotional impact of their negative self-beliefs. Discussion: The findings are discussed in relation to the role of powerlessness and the function of “not eating enough” in cognitive theory and therapy for AN.

目的 探讨创伤性休克患者发生液体超负荷的原因和治疗方法。方法 总结存活时间超过24h的286例创伤性休克患者,对休克纠正后出现全身性水肿患者进行分析,比较存活与死亡患者在伤后第1~8天的液体出入量。结果 286例创伤性休克患者中,出现水肿者262例(91.6%),存活232例(88.5%),死亡30例(11.5%)。死亡组的液体入量明显多于存活组(P〈0.05),液体出量则显著少于存活组(P〈0.05或P〈0.01)。存活组在伤后第4、5天出现液体负平衡即液体出量大于液体入量600~700mL(P〈0.05),而死亡组未出现液体负平衡现象。结论 创伤性休克的抢救过程中容易造成液体超负荷,液体出量增加甚至出现液体负平衡现象,预示着病情好转,此时只要生命体征稳定即可,不宜过分强调出入量平衡而大量补充液体。 相似文献

运用反应时探究小学生情绪认知发展特点 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
目的:探究小学儿童情绪认知的发展特点。方法:采用计算机实验方法和反应时评价指标,运用80对情绪词汇推测小学儿童对四个不同类别情绪(基本积极情绪、基本消极情绪、积极自我意识情绪、消极自我意识情绪)的认知发展差异,以及对引发情绪的原因、情绪的外在行为反应、情绪的后继调节三个维度的认知发展差异。结果:小学儿童对引发情绪的原因、外在行为反应、后继调节三个维度的反应时差异有统计学意义(1289.5、1164.6、1295.7,F=13.535,P〈0.001),且三个维度认知反应时2年级学生均长于4、6年级(P〈0.01),对四个不同类别情绪认知的反应时差异无显著性(1237.1、1269.8、1222.8、1305.2,F=1.520,P=0.220),四个类别的情绪认知反应时2年级均长于4、6年级(P〈0.01)。结论:儿童对情绪行为认知的加工速度最快,对消极自我意识认知的发展相对较慢,且均在2—4年级间发展迅速。 相似文献

The hypothesis that differences in drug effects of risperidone and haloperidol on negative symptoms in schizophrenia are secondary to effects on positive, extrapyramidal, and depressive symptoms was investigated by means of an analysis of the data from the USA-Canada risperidone double-blind randomized clinical trial of 523 chronic schizophrenic patients. Regression analyses in the total sample and within treatment groups confirmed a strong relationship between changes in negative symptoms and the other variables studied (R2=0.50–0.51,p<0.001). Only depressive symptoms did not contribute significantly to these results (p>0.10). Path analysis showed that the greater mean change (p<0.05) of negative symptoms with risperidone compared to haloperidol could not be fully explained by correlations with favourable effects on positive and extrapyramidal symptoms. The relationship between shift in extrapyramidal symptoms and shift in negative symptoms failed to reach statistical significance; however, there was a clear tendency in the expected direction in both treatment groups. 相似文献

Objective To investigate the reliability and validity of the expressed emotion (EE) measure, the Pre-school Five Minute Speech Sample (PFMSS), in child-to-child sibling relationships.
Method A total of 106 boys aged 7–11 were recruited from 12 mainstream primary schools in North Wales. The children completed the PFMSS regarding their sibling and two self-report measures of sibling relationship: the Sibling Relationship Questionnaire (SRQ) and a Child Visual Analogue Scale (CVAS). The parents of 60 participants completed the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire regarding the behavioural problems of the participating child and his younger sibling.
Results The PFMSS demonstrated good inter-rater and code–recode reliability. The significant associations between EE dimensions such as relationship, positive comments and critical comments with various components of the SRQ and CVAS provided support for the concurrent validity of the PFMSS. Significantly higher levels of Conflict and Rivalry and significantly lower levels of Warmth/Closeness on the SRQ were reported by children with high EE, demonstrating good discriminant validity for the PFMSS. There was no significant association between the child's EE profile and the behavioural difficulties of both siblings as reported by parents.
Conclusions The study found that the PFMSS is a valid and reliable measure of child EE. Future research is needed to clarify the concurrent validity of the warmth and initial statement components of the measure as well as the association between EE dimensions and behaviour. 相似文献
