Trichoderma is one of the most exploited biocontrol agent for the management of plant diseases. Twenty strains of Trichoderma (six of T. harzianum, four of T. viride, three of T. virens, three of T. koningii, each one of T. hamatum, T. reesei, T. parceramosum and Trichoderma spp.) subjected to in vitro antagonism up to 12 days after inoculation against Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. causing stem rot in groundnut. A new concept was developed to determine inhibition coefficient representing pathogen biology and biocontrol related biophysical variables. Results explained differential inhibition coefficient of test pathogen by Trichoderma antagonists. The inhibition coefficient of test pathogen was examined highest (91.13%) by T. virens NBAII Tvs12 followed by T. virens MTCC 794 (89.33%) and T. koningii MTCC 796 (62.39%). Microscopic study confirmed biocontrol mechanism as mycoparasitism for Tvs12 and antibiosis for T. koningii MTCC 796. The sclerotial biogenesis of test pathogen was elevated during weak antagonism and diminished in interactions with strong antagonists. The inhibition coefficient of S. rolfsii was significantly negatively correlated with sclerotia formation and lipid peroxidation during the antagonism. Trichoderma strains were screened for fungicides (carbendazim and tebuconazole, thiram and mancozeb) and abiotic stress (drought and salt) tolerance. Results indicated that T. koningii MTCC 796 efficiently grew better than the other strains with maximum radial growth under adverse conditions. The genetic variability among the Trichoderma was determined using 34 gene specific markers which amplified 146 alleles. The SSR similarities explained substantial diversity (15 to 87%) across Trichoderma strains and pathogen S. rolfsii. Principal coordinates analysis (PCA) were comparable to the cluster analysis and first three most informative PC components explained 64.45% of the total variation. In PCA, potent antagonists appear to be distinct from other strains. Five SSR markers T1F/T1R(311), TvCTT56f/TvCTT56r(387), TvGAT18f/TvGAT18r(364), TvCA39f/TvCA39r(196) and TvAG29f/TvAG29r(418) found to be unique to distinguish best antagonist strain Tvs12. However, MTCC 796 was examined most stress tolerant strain with better inhibition coefficient which might be useful to control the disease under adverse conditions or as a part of integrated pest management. 相似文献

Although the pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) resembles an antelope, its nearest relatives are the giraffe and okapi. In this study we have examined the placentae of 6 pronghorns using lectin- and immunocytochemistry to identify giraffid and bovid features. Binucleate cells (BNC) of the placenta exhibited features intermediate between those of the giraffe and bovine; Dolichos biflorus agglutinin binding – strong in the bovine BNC and absent in the giraffe – was evident in only a subpopulation of BNC while binding to blood vessels, as in the giraffe. Binding of Phytolacca americana agglutinin resembled that of the giraffe and okapi whereas many other glycans were found in all four clades. PAG antigens were similar to bovine and okapi but not giraffe. In summary, although the pronghorn outwardly resembles an antelope, placental BNC show giraffid features. PurposeChemo- and radiotherapy used in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) can influence on brain functioning in the future. In a prospective study we analysed the cognitive functions of ALL survivors in relation to Tau protein as a marker of white matter injury.Material and methodsThirty-one survivors of childhood ALL (6.3 years after diagnosis); without the signs of CNS involvement, treated with chemotherapy alone, rested in first remission; underwent Intelligence tests- Wechsler Intelligence Scales (WISC-R, WAIS-R). Their results were analyzed in relation to the levels of Tau in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) obtained during the treatment.ResultsThe analysis showed that all survivors attained the average scores in intelligence tests. A negative correlation was found between methotrexate (MTX) doses and Freedom from Distractibility (FFD). Females had higher values of Performance Intelligence Quotient (PIQ) than males. A negative correlation was noted of Tau protein levels obtained from the last CSF with: Total and Verbal Intelligence Quotient, PIQ, Perceptual Organisation Index and FFD but not with Verbal Comprehension Index.ConclusionOur results suggest the possibility of white matter injury during the treatment for ALL with chemotherapy alone. Elevated Tau protein level in CSF at the end of treatment might indicate future difficulties in neurocognitive functioning. 相似文献

The nutrition and flavour of instant noodles is largely attributed to added flavouring oil gravy. Herein, we evaluated the influence of red palm oil (RPO) on the physicochemical properties and sensory qualities by comparing palm oils and commercial oils and fats. The induction time for RPO (10.20 h) was higher than that for 5° (7.20 h) and 8° (8.40 h) palm oils. The RPO carotenoid, β-carotene and vitamin E content was 563.50, 520.00, and 364.00 mg kg−1, respectively. The carotenoid content of red sauce with RPO (RPR) and spicy sauce with RPO (SPR) gravies was 450.00 and 451.20 mg kg−1, respectively, far higher than those without RPO. The induction times of RPR and SPR were highest (16.65 h and 15.48 h). The peroxide value (POV) and polar compound (PC) content of pilot gravies were 0.06–0.10 g 100 g−1 and 11.00–15.00%, respectively.
