Teaching of medical ethics

Teaching medical ethics in Manchester within the introductory course of obstetrics and gynaecology is a joint activity with the Centre for Social Ethics and Policy. This interdisciplinary teaching has evolved through lecture sessions with small-group discussions dealing with topics of interest in human reproduction. The small-group discussion have been replaced by an open debate conducted by the students. Their own involvement and participation and an exposure to the disciplines of the humanities has broadened their approach to different ways of problem-solving of these real issues.     

永磁速愈贴对妇产科手术切口愈合的观察

目的探讨永磁速愈贴对切13的消肿止痛，促进伤口愈合和防止疤痕粘连与普通敷料进行对比观察。方法将住院行妇产科手术100例患者与同期住院的手术患者进行对比观察。结果永磁速愈贴切13愈合佳者84．0％，良好者13．0％，愈合差为3．0％，而普通敷料为28．0％、60．0％和12．0％，p〈0．01（x^2=63．660）。结论永磁速愈贴切口具有透气、保湿、促进伤口愈合、消肿、止痒，防止疤痕形成等作用。而普通敷料透气性差，保湿性差，术后切口有红肿、缝线反应、切口愈合时间长及切口局部愈合后有痛痒感。     

Students'' assessment of a course in obstetrics and gynaecology

A complete annual entry of 181 students were administered a questionnaire in which they were invited to make value judgements about all aspects of their 3-month course in obstetrics and gynaecology. The resulting performance indicators were used to compare individual staff and clinical firms.     

妇产科护士工作压力与心理健康的相关性研究

目的：探讨妇产科护士工作压力与心理健康的相关性。方法：笔者对本院妇产科护士进行心理健康问卷调查，并与全国女性常模进行对比，以分析妇产科护士的心理健康及工作压力，并提出干预对策。结果：经调查问卷显示，笔者所在科护理人员心理健康结果与全国常模比较差异有统计学意义（P〈O．05），这显示护理人员存在心理压力，需给予干预。结论：合理地安排班次，定期组织团体活动，给予实施心理干预等措施可降低护理人员的心理压力，从而恢复心理健康。

Imaging benign gynaecological conditions

Radiology continues to play an essential role in the management of benign gynaecological conditions. Multiple imaging modalities are utilised to investigate benign conditions: ultrasound; computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Each modality has a different role in diagnosis, treatment selection and follow-up. This review discusses the different imaging modalities and their recommended roles in the imaging benign gynaecological conditions. The imaging findings of common benign female pelvic pathology are discussed and illustrated.     

Contraception and its ethical considerations

Access to appropriate contraception not only has direct benefits for women's health and wellbeing but also has a broader positive impact on society as a whole. Obstetricians and gynaecologists play a key role in counselling women. Decisions regarding contraceptive choices must take into account women's preferences, cultural and religious beliefs as well as any co-existing medical issues.This article outlines three commonly encountered scenarios and the ethical and legal issues that may affect the choice of contraceptive.
