Efficacy of selected natural products as therapeutic agents against cancer   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
With emerging sophistication in the exploration of ocean environment, a number of marine bioactive products have been identified with promising anticancer activity. Many of these are in active phase I or phase II clinical trials or have been terminated because of adverse side effects, mainly hematological in nature. Nonetheless, the information derived has aided enormously in providing leads for laboratory synthesis with modifications in the parent structure affecting compound solubility, absorption, and toxicity, resulting in less severe toxicity while achieving maximum efficacy in smaller doses. We describe herein, a few of the compounds obtained from marine and terrestrial sources [bryostatin 1 ( 1), dolastatin 10 ( 2), auristatin PE ( 3), and combretastatin A4 ( 4)] that have been extensively investigated in our laboratory and continue to be investigated for their sensitization effects with other cytotoxic agents in several different site-specific tumors employing murine models or human subjects.  相似文献

岩黄连Corydalis saxicola是我国西南地区的民间传统药物,临床上用于乙型肝炎、肝硬化、肝癌等肝病的治疗,极具开发价值。研究表明岩黄连中含丰富的生物碱、甾体、三萜、黄酮与核苷等类化合物,生物碱类为主要成分,多数化合物具有显著的生物活性,如抗病毒、抗炎、抗肿瘤、保肝、抑菌、抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶、镇痛等活性,特别是对乙肝、肝癌以及肝硬化等疾病的缓解作用比较显著。对岩黄连化学成分及生物活性的研究进展进行综述,以期为岩黄连的后续研究和深入开发提供参考。  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The objective of this review is to evaluate whether clinical research has gained any evidence of effectiveness of Rosa canina preparations. METHODS: Several databases and other sources were searched to identify randomized controlled trials of Rosa canina preparations. RESULTS: Trials were described in a narrative way, taking into consideration methodological quality scores. Four trials were included in this review and two were identified as subgroup analyses. CONCLUSIONS: Moderate evidence exists for the use of a powder of the seeds and husks of a Rosa canina subspecies in patients suffering from osteoarthritis.  相似文献

Patents secured on antiinflammatory plant drugs derived from 38 plants are reviewed. An attempt has been made to compare the modern and traditional use of plant drugs and to establish the relevance of folk claims in developing modern drugs. The role of plant botanicals such as polysaccharides, terpenes, curcuminoids, alkaloids, etc. in alleviating inflammatory diseases including arthritis, rheumatism, acne skin allergy and ulcers is highlighted. Chemicals that alleviate swelling are derived from plants including grape, boswellia, turmeric, devil's claw and some essential oils such as clove, eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, mint, myrrh, millefolia and pine have been patented and used as mixed formulations. Plants containing polysaccharides are the most potent in curing inflammatory diseases.  相似文献

目的:探索海洋中药数据挖掘和知识补全技术,挖掘海洋中药文献的隐藏知识,为古籍文献的中医药知识挖掘和知识图谱质量提升提供借鉴。方法:针对领域知识图谱的特点提出了一种融合知识图谱与数据挖掘的领域知识图谱补全方法。从海洋中药知识图谱中检索补肾类海洋中药及相关效方,利用关联规则、聚类对海洋中药功效、主治、效方配伍、性味归经等之间的关联关系进行分析与聚类,对海洋中药知识图谱进行知识补全。结果:检索出补肾类海洋中药51味,相关效方123首,以此为数据源进行数据挖掘。发现补肾类海洋中药大多味咸,性温,归肝、肾两经。筛选出83首补肾类效方,发现补肾常用海洋中药有海马、海狗肾、海参、石首鱼和4类核心药组。将挖掘结果以三元组的形式补充到海洋中药知识图谱中,可有效完善补肾类效方的核心配伍关系。结论:以知识图谱为数据源进行数据挖掘,并将挖掘结果补充知识图谱,可以使知识图谱更为完整,相关思路与方法可为中医药领域数据挖掘、中医药知识图谱质量提升提供参考。  相似文献

An ethnopharmaceutical study focused on domestic cosmetics, cosmeceuticals, and remedies to heal skin diseases traditionally used in the inland part of the Marches region (Central-Eastern Italy) has been conducted. At present, traditional knowledge concerning home-made phytocosmetics is represented by both the remnants of an orally transmitted folk heritage and also by new forms of knowledge, sometimes coming from popular phytotherapeutical books and the mass media (out of the scope of this survey), but also as a result of recent migration trends from Eastern Europe. We recorded approximately 135 cosmetic or cosmeceutical preparations prepared from more than 70 botanical species and a very few animal or mineral ingredients. Among the recorded preparations, developing a clear distinction amongst cosmetics, cosmeceuticals and pharmaceuticals for skin diseases is very problematic, confirming that in folk knowledge systems medicinal products for healing skin diseases and cosmetics have often been perceived as two poles of a continuum. Many of the quoted species represented well-known medicinal plants of the European phytotherapy, although we also recorded a few unusual plant taxa, which are briefly discussed under the perspective of their eventual phytochemical and/or phytopharmacological potentialities. Exotic drugs or precious essences, even native of the Mediterranean, were not quoted as ingredients for preparing perfumes and fragrances by the interviewees of the present study, thus indicating that popular cosmetic practices in rural Central Italy have taken a much separated path away from the cosmetic "know-how" of the aristocracy and high bourgeois classes of the last centuries.  相似文献

In traditional practices of medicine, numerous plants have been used to treat cognitive disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other memory related disorders. An ethnopharmacological approach has provided leads to identifying potential new drugs from plant sources, including those for memory disorders. There are numerous drugs available in Western medicine that have been directly isolated from plants, or are derived from templates of compounds from plant sources. For example, some alkaloids from plant sources have been investigated for their potential in AD therapy, and are now in clinical use (e.g. galantamine from Galanthus nivalis L. is used in the United Kingdom). Various other plant species have shown favourable effects in AD, or pharmacological activities indicating the potential for use in AD therapy. This article reviews some of the plants and their active constituents that have been used in traditional medicine, including Ayurvedic, Chinese, European and Japanese medicine, for their reputed cognitive-enhancing and antidementia effects. Plants and their constituents with pharmacological activities that may be relevant to the treatment of cognitive disorders, including enhancement of cholinergic function in the central nervous system, anti-cholinesterase (anti-ChE), antiinflammatory, antioxidant and oestrogenic effects, are discussed.  相似文献

近年来国际上对海洋天然产物的研究日益深入,依托现代大规模药理筛选,目前已有多种结构新颖、药理活性显著且作用机制特殊的海洋天然产物进入临床试验阶段或正在进行临床前研究。海绵种类繁多,代谢途径独特,生存环境多样,共生现象复杂而普遍,多年来一直是海洋天然产物领域最富成果的研究领域之一。本文简要介绍近几年海绵化学成份及其药理活性的研究进展,以供国内同行参考。  相似文献

Marine mollusks have been identified as a rich source of novel compounds. The diversity of the chemical nature of these compounds can be partially attributed to the dietary sources inasmuch as mollusks are known to concentrate selectively compounds present in their diet. Although cembranolide diterpenses have been isolated in ever-growing numbers from a variety of marine as well as terrestrial sources, there is only one report about their presence in a marine mollusk. In this communication, we report the isolation of dihydrosinularin and 11-epi-sinulariolide from the mollusk Planaxis sulcatus Born. Dihydrosinularin and 11-epi-sinulariolide acetate have been isolated previously from soft corals which, together with gorgonians, are the richest sources of marine cembranoids. It should be pointed out that this is the first report on the occurrence of the parent 11-epi-sinulariolide in a marine invertebrate. It is expected these diterpenes are of dietary origin although the possibility of biotransformation of a precusor by the mollusk cannot be ruled out at this time. Both dihydrosinularin and 11-epi-sinulariolide have been reported to have marginal antineoplastic activity against P-388 lymphocytic leukemia.  相似文献
