Musculoskeletal deficits are among the most commonly reported extra-intestinal manifestations and complications of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), especially in those with Crohn’s disease. The adverse effects of IBD on bone and muscle are multifactorial, including the direct effects of underlying inflammatory disease processes, nutritional deficits, and therapeutic effects. These factors also indirectly impact bone and muscle by interfering with regulatory pathways. Resultantly, individuals with IBD are at increased risk of osteoporosis and sarcopenia and associated musculoskeletal morbidity. In paediatric IBD, these factors may contribute to suboptimal bone and muscle accrual. This review evaluates the main pathogenic factors associated with musculoskeletal deficits in children and adults with IBD and summarises the current literature and understanding of the musculoskeletal phenotype in these patients.  相似文献

Osteoporosis and sarcopenia are two chronic conditions, which widely affect older people and share common risk factors. We investigated the prevalence of low bone mineral density (BMD) and sarcopenia, including the overlap of both conditions (osteosarcopenia) in 572 older hospitalized patients (mean age 75.1 ± 10.8 years, 78% women) with known or suspected osteoporosis in this prospective observational multicenter study. Sarcopenia was assessed according to the revised definition of the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP2). Low BMD was defined according to the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations as a T-score < −1.0. Osteosarcopenia was diagnosed when both low BMD and sarcopenia were present. Low BMD was prevalent in 76% and the prevalence of sarcopenia was 9%, with 90% of the sarcopenic patients showing the overlap of osteosarcopenia (8% of the entire population). Conversely, only few patients with low BMD demonstrated sarcopenia (11%). Osteosarcopenic patients were older and frailer and had lower BMI, fat, and muscle mass, handgrip strength, and T-score compared to nonosteosarcopenic patients. We conclude that osteosarcopenia is extremely common in sarcopenic subjects. Considering the increased risk of falls in patients with sarcopenia, they should always be evaluated for osteoporosis.  相似文献

Sarcopenia, a newly recognized geriatric syndrome, is characterized by age-related decline of skeletal muscle plus low muscle strength and/or physical performance. Previous studies have confirmed the association of sarcopenia and adverse health outcomes, such as falls, disability, hospital admission, long term care placement, poorer quality of life, and mortality, which denotes the importance of sarcopenia in the health care for older people. Despite the clinical significance of sarcopenia, the operational definition of sarcopenia and standardized intervention programs are still lacking. It is generally agreed by the different working groups for sarcopenia in the world that sarcopenia should be defined through a combined approach of muscle mass and muscle quality, however, selecting appropriate diagnostic cutoff values for all the measurements in Asian populations is challenging. Asia is a rapidly aging region with a huge population, so the impact of sarcopenia to this region is estimated to be huge as well. Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) aimed to promote sarcopenia research in Asia, and we collected the best available evidences of sarcopenia researches from Asian countries to establish the consensus for sarcopenia diagnosis. AWGS has agreed with the previous reports that sarcopenia should be described as low muscle mass plus low muscle strength and/or low physical performance, and we also recommend outcome indicators for further researches, as well as the conditions that sarcopenia should be assessed. In addition to sarcopenia screening for community-dwelling older people, AWGS recommends sarcopenia assessment in certain clinical conditions and healthcare settings to facilitate implementing sarcopenia in clinical practice. Moreover, we also recommend cutoff values for muscle mass measurements (7.0 kg/m2 for men and 5.4 kg/m2 for women by using dual X-ray absorptiometry, and 7.0 kg/m2 for men and 5.7 kg/m2 for women by using bioimpedance analysis), handgrip strength (<26 kg for men and <18 kg for women), and usual gait speed (<0.8 m/s). However, a number of challenges remained to be solved in the future. Asia is made up of a great number of ethnicities. The majority of currently available studies have been published from eastern Asia, therefore, more studies of sarcopenia in south, southeastern, and western Asia should be promoted. On the other hand, most Asian studies have been conducted in a cross-sectional design and few longitudinal studies have not necessarily collected the commonly used outcome indicators as other reports from Western countries. Nevertheless, the AWGS consensus report is believed to promote more Asian sarcopenia research, and most important of all, to focus on sarcopenia intervention studies and the implementation of sarcopenia in clinical practice to improve health care outcomes of older people in the communities and the healthcare settings in Asia.  相似文献

ObjectivesThe updated definition of sarcopenia by the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP2) recommends both low muscle mass and quality to diagnose sarcopenia; concurrent poor physical performance is considered indicative of severe sarcopenia; however, the relationship between the revised definition and disability incidence among Japanese older adults is unclear. Therefore, we aimed to examine the associations between EWGSOP2-defined sarcopenia and disability incidence among community-dwelling older Japanese adults.DesignNationwide study.Setting and participantsWe included 4561 individuals aged ≥65 years and enrolled in the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology–Study of Geriatric Syndromes (NCGG-SGS).MethodsSkeletal muscle mass was assessed using a bioimpedance analysis device; handgrip strength and walking speed were measured as physical performance indicators. We used the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia cutoffs to define low muscle mass and poor physical performance. We stratified all participants into nonsarcopenia, sarcopenia, and severe sarcopenia groups. Disability incidence was prospectively determined over 49 months using data extracted from the Japanese long-term care insurance system.ResultsThe prevalence of sarcopenia and severe sarcopenia was 3.4% and 1.7%, respectively. Participants with any form of sarcopenia were at a higher risk of disability [hazard ratio (HR) 1.78, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.27-2.49]. Although participants with severe sarcopenia showed a higher risk of disability (HR 2.00, 95% CI 1.32-3.02), there was no significant disability risk in the sarcopenia group (HR 1.54, 95% CI 0.97-2.46). Grip strength (HR 0.96, 95% CI 0.94-0.98) and walking speed (HR 0.19, 95% CI 0.12-0.30) negatively correlated with disability incidence.Conclusions and implicationsSevere sarcopenia, involving low muscle mass and poor physical performance, might increase disability risk in older adults, as opposed to low muscle mass alone. Further studies are needed to determine whether sarcopenia without poor physical performance increases disability risk.  相似文献

Renal dysfunction and sarcopenia are important prognostic factors in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD). Muscle atrophy can cause the overestimation of renal function based on serum creatinine. However, the frequency of overestimated renal function in Japanese patients with CLD and its relationship with sarcopenia are unclear. In present study, we evaluated the frequency of overestimated renal function, defined as a >20% higher eGFR using creatinine than using cystatin C, in 307 patients with CLD as well as its relationship with indicators of sarcopenia. In total, 24.8% of patients had overestimated renal function. In a multivariate regression analysis, liver cirrhosis (p = 0.004) and psoas muscle mass index (p = 0.049) were significantly associated with overestimated renal function. Loss of skeletal muscle mass was significantly more frequent in both male and female patients with overestimated renal function than without. In males, the loss of muscle strength and rate of sarcopenia, defined as loss of muscle mass and strength, were significantly higher in patients with than without overestimated renal function. The high frequency of overestimated renal function in Japanese patients suggests that indicators of renal function should be carefully considered; furthermore, monitoring and interventions for both renal function and sarcopenia are needed in patients with CLD.  相似文献

The aging process is frequently characterized by an involuntary loss of muscle (sarcopenia) and bone (osteoporosis) mass. Both chronic diseases are associated with decreased metabolic rate, increased risk of falls/fracture, and, as a result, increased morbidity and loss of independence in the elderly. The quality and quantity of protein intake affects bone and muscle mass in several ways and there is evidence that increased essential amino acid or protein availability can enhance muscle protein synthesis and anabolism, as well as improve bone homeostasis in older subjects. A thorough evaluation of renal function is important, since renal function decreases with age. Finally, protein and calcium intake should be considered in the prevention or treatment of the chronic diseases osteoporosis and sarcopenia.  相似文献

ObjectivesSarcopenia is diagnosed on the basis of skeletal muscle mass and muscle strength/function; however, simpler and more accurate measures for muscle mass and muscle strength/function should be explored using ultrasonography. This study aimed to investigate a new screening method using ultrasonography to diagnose sarcopenia of lower leg muscles in older males.DesignCross-sectional study.Setting and subjectsA total of 60 males, aged 65 years or older, participated in this study.MeasuresThe muscle thickness (MT) and echo intensity (EI) of the lower leg muscles were measured using ultrasonography, and the physical functions were examined. The MT and EI values of the lower leg muscles for predicting low appendicular skeletal muscle mass index (ASMI) and low grip strength were analyzed using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis and significant cutoff values were observed. A binary logistic regression analysis was performed with an MT below the cutoff value or an EI above the cutoff value as the independent variable, and with sarcopenia according to the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia criterion as the dependent variable.ResultsUsing the optimal cutoff points of MT and EI for predicting a low ASMI and low grip strength, the MT of the tibialis anterior (TA), the EI of the TA and gastrocnemius, and the MT/EI index of the TA and soleus were found to be associated with sarcopenia after adjusting for age, body mass index, calf circumference, presence of diabetes mellitus, and statin use in the binary logistic regression model. In addition, the combined MT and EI of the TA showed predictability with respect to sarcopenia.Conclusions/RelevanceUltrasonographic assessment of lower leg muscles might be useful as a convenient approach for detecting sarcopenia. In particular, the determination of both MT and EI of the TA should be considered as an alternative method of screening for sarcopenia.  相似文献

Skeletal muscle wasting in the intensive care unit (ICU) has been associated with mortality, but it is unclear whether sarcopenia, defined by skeletal muscle mass and function, is useful for detailed risk stratification after ICU discharge. In this cohort study, 72 critically ill patients with an ICU stay of ≥48 h were identified. Skeletal muscle mass was assessed from the muscle thickness (MT) of the patients’ quadriceps using ultrasound images before ICU discharge. Skeletal muscle function was assessed from the patients’ muscle strength (MS) before ICU discharge according to the Medical Research Council sum score. A diagnosis of sarcopenia in the ICU was made in patients with low MT and low MS. The study endpoint was 1-year mortality. Sarcopenia in the ICU was diagnosed in 26/72 patients (36%). After adjusting for covariates in the Cox regression, sarcopenia in the ICU was significantly associated with 1-year mortality (hazard ratio 3.82; 95% confidence interval, 1.40–10.42). Sarcopenia in the ICU, defined by low skeletal muscle mass and function, was associated with 1-year mortality in survivors of critical illness. Skeletal muscle mass and function assessed at the bedside could be used to identify higher-risk patients in the ICU.  相似文献

ObjectiveSarcopenia is highly prevalent in hospitalized older patients and associated with short-term mortality. This study aimed to investigate whether sarcopenia and its measures handgrip strength (HGS) and muscle mass at hospital admission were associated with long-term mortality in a cohort of hospitalized older patients.DesignObservational, prospective, longitudinal inception cohort study.Setting and ParticipantsAcademic teaching hospital; patients age ≥70 years admitted to the internal medicine, acute admission, trauma, or orthopedic wards.MethodsHGS and muscle mass were measured at admission using a hand dynamometer and bioelectrical impedance analysis. Sarcopenia was determined based on the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People definition. HGS and muscle mass (skeletal muscle mass index, appendicular lean mass, relative skeletal muscle mass) were expressed as sex-specific tertiles. The associations of sarcopenia, HGS, and muscle mass with mortality (during a follow-up of 3.4-4.1 years) were analyzed using Cox regression, adjusted for age, sex, comorbidity, and weight or height. Associations of HGS and muscle mass were stratified by sex.ResultsOut of 363 patients [mean age: 79.6 years (standard deviation: 6.4), 49.9% female] 49% died. Probable sarcopenia (prevalence of 53.7%) and sarcopenia (prevalence of 20.8%) were significantly associated with long-term mortality [hazard ratio (HR) 1.53, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.08?2.17 and 1.71 95% CI 1.12?2.61, respectively]. Low HGS, skeletal muscle mass index, and appendicular lean mass were associated with a higher mortality risk (lowest tertile vs highest tertile: HR 2.660, 95% CI 1.40?5.05; HR 1.95, 95% CI 1.06?3.58 and HR 1.99 (95% CI 1.12?3.53) in male patients. No statistically significant associations of relative muscle mass with mortality were found.Conclusions and ImplicationsSarcopenia and its measures (low HGS and low absolute muscle mass at admission) predict long-term mortality in older hospitalized patients.  相似文献

Sarcopenia is a prevalent condition in patients with Crohn’s disease (CD), representing an independent predictor factor for the development of major postoperative complications. Thus, a proper assessment of the muscle strength, by using different validated tools, should be deemed an important step of the clinical management of these patients. Patients with CD are frequently malnourished, presenting a high prevalence of different macro- and micro-nutrient deficiencies, including that of vitamin D. The available published studies indicate that vitamin D is involved in the regulation of proliferation, differentiation, and regeneration of muscle cells. The relationship between vitamin D deficiency and sarcopenia has been extensively studied in other populations, with interesting evidence in regards to a potential role of vitamin D supplementation as a means to prevent and treat sarcopenia. Introduction

A precise quantitative measurement of skeletal muscle mass is fundamental for diagnosing sarcopenia in older individuals. The current techniques of assessment, including dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA), bioimpedance analysis (BIA), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are either difficult to perform in everyday clinical practice or biased by concurrent clinical confounders. B-mode muscle ultrasound can be helpful in assessing muscle mass and architecture, and thus possibly useful for diagnosing or screening sarcopenia.

Methods

A literature search of published articles on muscle ultrasound and sarcopenia in older individuals as of July 31, 2016, was made on PubMed and Scopus. Manual search and cross-referencing from reviews and original articles was also performed.

Results

Most of the existing studies were carried out on healthy well-fit subjects, with a low prevalence of sarcopenia. The main parameters that can be assessed through muscle ultrasound are muscle thickness, cross-sectional area, echo intensity, and, for pennate muscles, fascicle length and pennation angle. In older subjects, all these parameters show some degree of alteration compared to young adults, particularly in lower limb muscles with antigravitary function, such as the quadriceps femoris and gastrocnemius medialis. Each of these parameters may be theoretically useful for detecting the loss of muscle mass and functionality in geriatric patients. They are also poorly influenced by the presence of acute and chronic diseases and fluid balance, unlike DXA and BIA, but a high degree of standardization in ultrasound protocols is necessary. Frontier applications of ultrasound in the assessment of sarcopenia may include contrast-enhanced and diaphragm ultrasound.

Conclusions

The current literature does not allow to make conclusive recommendations about the use of muscle ultrasound in geriatric practice. However, this technique is very promising, and further studies should validate its applications in the context of sarcopenia assessment.  相似文献

Nutrition has an important impact on inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). In particular, several studies have addressed its role in their pathogenesis, showing how the incidence of IBD significantly increased in recent years. Meanwhile, nutrition should be considered a component of the treatment of the disease, both as a therapy itself, and especially in the perspective of correcting the various nutritional deficiencies shown by these patients. In this perspective, nutritional suggestions are very important even in the most severe forms of IBD, requiring hospitalization or surgical treatment. Although current knowledge about nutrition in IBD is increasing over time, nutritional suggestions are often underestimated by clinicians. This narrative review is an update summary of current knowledge on nutritional suggestions in IBD, in order to address the impact of nutrition on pathogenesis, micro- and macro-nutrients deficiencies (especially in the case of sarcopenia and obesity), as well as in hospitalized patients.  相似文献

ObjectivesRespiratory muscle strength decreases with advancing age, and respiratory muscle dysfunction may indicate respiratory sarcopenia. However, there is no consensus regarding the definition of respiratory sarcopenia. We aimed to create a definition of respiratory sarcopenia based on the peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR).DesignCross-sectional study.Setting and participantsCommunity-based study including 681 community-dwelling older people.MethodsBody composition, spirometry, grip strength, and walking speed were measured. Participants reported comorbidities and long-term insurance certification. Conventional sarcopenia was defined using skeletal muscle mass, grip strength, and walking speed adjusted for the Japanese population. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis of the cut-off values of PEFR for conventional sarcopenia and long-term care insurance certification were performed for both sexes without airway obstruction. In the ROC curve analysis, potential cut-off values were lowest quartile, lowest quintiles, and the standard deviation of PEFR. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed with respiratory sarcopenia as a dependent variable defined by each cut-off value and other variants as independent variables.ResultsThe ROC curve analysis for conventional sarcopenia and long-term care insurance certification showed significance for both sexes, and we determined cut-off values from those results. The multiple logistic regression model using PEFR values 1 standard deviation below the mean had the highest accuracy; thus, we accepted these cut-off values (4.40 L/s for men, 3.21 L/s for women) for the definition of respiratory sarcopenia.Conclusions/ImplicationsThe definition of respiratory sarcopenia based on PEFR was useful and correlated with conventional sarcopenia and long-term care insurance certification among community-dwelling older people. In this study, respiratory sarcopenia was determined by PEFR alone. Other parameters may need to be considered.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo describe the prevalence of sarcopenia in a large group of community-dwelling older adults using the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) 2019 definition and algorithm.DesignCross-sectional data analysis of a cohort study.SettingThe Nationwide Korean Frailty and Aging Cohort Study (KFACS).ParticipantsA total of 2123 ambulatory community-dwelling older adults, aged 70 to 84 years (mean, 75.9 ± 3.9 years; 49.5% women) were enrolled in the KFACS.MethodsAppendicular skeletal muscle mass was measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry. Physical function was assessed by handgrip strength, usual gait speed, the 5-times-sit-to-stand test, the timed up-and-go test, and the Short Physical Performance Battery. In a case-finding assessment, screening for sarcopenia was performed using the calf circumference (CC), SARC-F questionnaire, and SARC-F combined with CC (SARC-CalF).ResultsAccording to the AWGS 2019 algorithm, 43.5%, 7.5%, and 26.0% of the subjects in the whole study sample were classified as those at risk for sarcopenia according to CC, SARC-F, and SARC-CalF, respectively. The prevalence rates of possible sarcopenia using 3 screening tools for case-finding and muscle strength or physical performance tests according to the AWGS 2019 diagnostic algorithm were 20.1% in men and 29.2% in women. The prevalence rates of sarcopenia, when defined as low muscle mass plus low handgrip strength and/or slow gait speed, were significantly higher according to the AWGS 2019 (21.3% in men and 13.8% in women) than the AWGS 2014 (10.3% in men and 8.1% in women) definitions. The prevalence of severe sarcopenia was 6.4% in men and 3.2% in women.Conclusions/ImplicationsThe results of our study suggest that the use of CC and SARC-CalF to screen for possible sarcopenia may be more suited than using the SARC-F questionnaire alone according to the AWGS 2019 diagnostic algorithm in community-dwelling adults aged 70 to 84 years. The prevalence of sarcopenia was significantly higher according to the AWGS 2019 than AWGS 2014 criteria.  相似文献

Uremic sarcopenia is a frequent condition present in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and is characterized by reduced muscle mass, muscle strength and physical performance. Uremic sarcopenia is related to an increased risk of hospitalization and all-causes mortality. This pathological condition is caused not only by advanced age but also by others factors typical of CKD patients such as metabolic acidosis, hemodialysis therapy, low-grade inflammatory status and inadequate protein-energy intake. Currently, treatments available to ameliorate uremic sarcopenia include nutritional therapy (oral nutritional supplement, inter/intradialytic parenteral nutrition, enteral nutrition, high protein and fiber diet and percutaneous endoscopic gastrectomy) and a personalized program of physical activity. The aim of this review is to analyze the possible benefits induced by nutritional therapy alone or in combination with a personalized program of physical activity, on onset and/or progression of uremic sarcopenia.  相似文献

Life extension in modern society has introduced new concepts regarding such disorders as frailty and sarcopenia, which has been recognized in various studies. At the same time, cutting-edge technology methods, e.g., renal replacement therapy for conditions such as hemodialysis (HD), have made it possible to protect patients from advanced lethal chronic kidney disease (CKD). Loss of muscle and fat mass, termed protein energy wasting (PEW), has been recognized as prognostic factor and, along with the increasing rate of HD introduction in elderly individuals in Japan, appropriate countermeasures are necessary. Although their origins differ, frailty, sarcopenia, and PEW share common components, among which skeletal muscle plays a central role in their etiologies. The nearest concept may be sarcopenia, for which diagnosis techniques have recently been reported. The focus of this review is on maintenance of skeletal muscle against aging and CKD/HD, based on muscle physiology and pathology. Clinically relevant and topical factors related to muscle wasting including sarcopenia, such as vitamin D, myostatin, insulin (related to diabetes), insulin-like growth factor I, mitochondria, and physical inactivity, are discussed. Findings presented thus far indicate that in addition to modulation of the aforementioned factors, exercise combined with nutritional supplementation may be a useful approach to overcome muscle wasting and sarcopenia in elderly patients undergoing HD treatments.  相似文献

Osteoporosis and sarcopenia are diseases which affect the myoskeletal system and often occur in older adults. They are characterized by low bone density and loss of muscle mass and strength, factors which reduce the quality of life and mobility. Recently, apart from pharmaceutical interventions, many studies have focused on non-pharmaceutical approaches for the prevention of osteoporosis and sarcopenia with exercise and nutrition to being the most important and well studied of those. The purpose of the current narrative review is to describe the role of exercise and nutrition on prevention of osteoporosis and sarcopenia in older adults and to define the incidence of osteosarcopenia. Most of the publications which were included in this review show that resistance and endurance exercises prevent the development of osteoporosis and sarcopenia. Furthermore, protein and vitamin D intake, as well as a healthy diet, present a protective role against the development of the above bone diseases. However, current scientific data are not sufficient for reaching solid conclusions. Although the roles of exercise and nutrition on osteoporosis and sarcopenia seem to have been largely evaluated in literature over the recent years, most of the studies which have been conducted present high heterogeneity and small sample sizes. Therefore, they cannot reach final conclusions. In addition, osteosarcopenia seems to be caused by the effects of osteoporosis and sarcopenia on elderly. Larger meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials are needed designed based on strict inclusion criteria, in order to describe the exact role of exercise and nutrition on osteoporosis and sarcopenia.  相似文献

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) represents a major health burden for the elderly population, affecting approximately 25% of people over the age of 65 years. This percentage is expected to increase dramatically in the next decades in relation to the increased longevity of the population observed in recent years. Beyond microvascular and macrovascular complications, sarcopenia has been described as a new diabetes complication in the elderly population. Increasing attention has been paid by researchers and clinicians to this age-related condition—characterized by loss of skeletal muscle mass together with the loss of muscle power and function—in individuals with T2DM; this is due to the heavy impact that sarcopenia may have on physical and psychosocial health of diabetic patients, thus affecting their quality of life. The aim of this narrative review is to provide an update on: (1) the risk of sarcopenia in individuals with T2DM, and (2) its association with relevant features of patients with T2DM such as age, gender, body mass index, disease duration, glycemic control, presence of microvascular or macrovascular complications, nutritional status, and glucose-lowering drugs. From a clinical point of view, it is necessary to improve the ability of physicians and dietitians to recognize early sarcopenia and its risk factors in patients with T2DM in order to make appropriate therapeutic approaches able to prevent and treat this condition.  相似文献

A group of geriatricians and scientists from academia and industry met in Rome, Italy, on November 18, 2009, to arrive at a consensus definition of sarcopenia. The current consensus definition was approved unanimously by the meeting participants and is as follows: Sarcopenia is defined as the age-associated loss of skeletal muscle mass and function. The causes of sarcopenia are multifactorial and can include disuse, altered endocrine function, chronic diseases, inflammation, insulin resistance, and nutritional deficiencies. Although cachexia may be a component of sarcopenia, the 2 conditions are not the same. The diagnosis of sarcopenia should be considered in all older patients who present with observed declines in physical function, strength, or overall health. Sarcopenia should specifically be considered in patients who are bedridden, cannot independently rise from a chair, or who have a measured gait speed less that 1 m/s(-1). Patients who meet these criteria should further undergo body composition assessment using dual energy x-ray absorptiometry with sarcopenia being defined using currently validated definitions. A diagnosis of sarcopenia is consistent with a gait speed of less than 1 m·s(-1) and an objectively measured low muscle mass (eg, appendicular mass relative to ht(2) that is ≤ 7.23 kg/m(2) in men and ≤ 5.67 kg/m(2) in women). Sarcopenia is a highly prevalent condition in older persons that leads to disability, hospitalization, and death.  相似文献
