Abstract: | Objective To describe and analyze the spectrum of diseases and changes of elderly patients over 60 years old in Yunnan Province. Methods Through the National Health Statistics Information Network Direct Reporting System, the home page of electronic medical records of discharged elderly patients from the public hospitals in Yunnan province from January 2017 to December 2019 was systematically sorted and analyzed according to the International Classification of Diseases 10 (ICD-10) system perform classification statistics. Results From 2017 to 2019, the average number of hospital discharges were 4375768, of which the average number of elderly people aged 60 and over were 1330437 per year, accounting for 30.40%. Diseases of circulatory system, respiratory system, digestive system, musculoskeletal system and connective tissue, and genitourinary system ranked among the top 5 diseases, accounting for 66.30% of all diseases. Cerebrovascular diseases, chronic lower respiratory diseases, gallstones and cholecystitis, intervertebral disc disease and renal failure ranked first among the above-mentioned systemic diseases respectively. Chronic lower respiratory diseases, ischemic heart disease, cerebral infarction, hypertension and malignant tumors were the main diseases of the elderly in hospital; Tuberculosis ranked first among infectious diseases. Conclusion Chronic non-communicable diseases have become the main cause of endangering the health of the elderly in Yunnan Province and this will pose a challenge to the weak health management system for the elderly in Yunnan. |
